Dedication and Remembrances Books

This is a hard concert theme to come up with books for. When I hear this title, it makes me think of sad things... and, well, I would prefer not to spend my time reading horribly sad books. That said, I came up with a few other books that fit the theme:
The Maze Runner by James Dashner
Still Alice by Lisa Genova
The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum
The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje
The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

Does anyone have any other ideas of thematically appropriate books?

My initial reaction for this theme was "The Shadow of the Wind" which Jackie is currently reading, but I'll keep thinking.

Ha! That's great. I thought we decided this is the book we'd read for this concert, hence it being on the front page. I can always delay my start a few weeks. :)

We had discussed listing additional themed books here-- in case people wanted to expand their reading a bit more. Would you be interested in reading The Shadow of the Wind for this concert? Or do you think we should pick something else?
