MeerderWörter | 2388 comments It will be an honour for me to translate that to German. I'm just waiting for an official yes, because maybe other articles/interviews are more important(you want them to be translated sooner.)

The Boss Lady is amazing.

Genny Pisano | 21 comments Energizing to say the least! I bet Marjane is a like a spark, I can picture her speaking a bit loud and gesturing and always moving!

Great interview! Almost useless to say, full of good, good ideas (not that I'm surprised, You are both very very intelligent)! Always a start, in the hope that many and many pick up those same ideas and build something good on them.

Thank You Ms, Emma, another interesting conversation!
Really eager to read the next one!

Evie Simms (eviiesaurus) | 1 comments I am only half way through this interview and I am in love with it. It is one of the best things I have read! It is so powerful and inspirational. It has completely changed the way I think. I respect different women way more than I did before the interview. Thank you for changing my views in a more special and influenced way than before.
Thanks again Emma <3

Tatiana H (THerrera) | 1 comments Hello everybody
I just finished reading the complete article in VOGUE webpage and it was EXTRAODINARY. I definetely will read the book. Right now I'm feeling really exciting about the opinion of Marjane, and I agree with her in so many things. Nowadays, our culture imposes a life-style that we "must" carry out, just becaouse we're women, society imposes us a sticker in our forehead just for being women. That's common in my country (COLOMBIA), but fortunately for me, my dad encourage me to do more with my life, to study, to study another language (English), to meet another people of my age, and I really love that about him, that, despite he was bring up in a male chauvinist family, through the years, he became a complete different person. Whatever, Love that interview.

Sincerely

Tatiana :)

Darryl Alisto | 6 comments April 15 Zodiac

As an Aries born on April 15th, your personality is defined by a fun-loving attitude, optimism and generosity. While there are many people who take a negative look towards life, you truly enjoy living and experiencing new things. You are always upbeat, which can be credited to your innate optimism. While your friends and family always marvel at your positivity, it may be your generous nature that they appreciate the most. One would be hard pressed to find a situation where you turned away a friend in need.

Harm, I just wonder which statement are you refering to? I'm always open to discuss topics. But I think that it's backed up by statistics, I mean, she'd be not really clever if she said it without checking the statistics. We, as feminists, need statistics more than ever, I believe.

She did so, yes. I still love to look at the two companion books, they look so beautiful in hardcover.

Ash (goodreadscomashna_gulati2609) | 205 comments Pardon me for writing in on this thread so long after it was created, but I just couldn't help it.This is probably one of the very first interviews that I have come across, where I felt like my mind and ideologies were completely in synchronisation with Marjane's.It is such a pleasure to know that there are people in the world other than your loathsome self who feel that it is okay to be bored with things that we once loved, and it is okay to be so many things at once and also the fact that sometimes you never get that sense of belonging to where you actually belong, but to places you've been only a few moments of your life. What's more interesting is that,as soceity would probably deem us as aimless and somebody with no direction, for having changed our working lines time and time again,in my opinion,We are the people who actually take control of the steering wheels of our life, and thus forth choose whether we wish to take a dip in the warm waters of Malibu,or enjoy the chill from the glaciers of Greenland or hurl up near the Pink beach in Australia.
It was really very illuminating and inspiring and brilliant, all at once.
Thanx Emma.:)

message 66: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 34 comments One of my favorite actors was born in Iran and his family fled when he was six months old because of the war. The whole concept of revolution is important to him and he is very in favor of the refugee community. Marjane's book opened my eyes to what his family might have experienced.
