Eliza had an obvious bounce in her step while she walked to her first class of the year. It was exciting, really, her senior year of college. She was the head of her sorority, an internship planned at the zoo, she had a party planned for this Friday, and even someone to spend the night with after the party. She was ecstatic, and everything was going well for her so far. Liza was decked in a pair of denim jeans with a white tank top. The top was loose and airy, it was amazingly comfortable. She peeled down at her phone and took in a sharp breath, starting to move her feet faster towards her lecture hall. She was almost late, and out of all the things she could get away with, being late I her first lecture wasn't one of them. Eliza was wearing a pair of VERY high heels, but somehow she managed to run in them all the way to her building, then down the hall and into the lecture hall. There were still plenty of people milling around, so she let out a breath, looking for a seat. She spotted one of the girls from the sorority in there, so she slid into the seat next to her "Hey, Firstie." She said with a wide grin, looking over at the girl.

Eliza placed her bag down in her lap, pulling out a notebook, some pens in different colors, and her reading book. She'd already read the book, twice, just to be on the safe side. She wanted to know what was coming and be prepared for any disaster. She barely even noticed how nervous the freshman beside her was at first, but once she'd settled her bag on the floor and her supplies on the desk, she could easily tell that the poor thing was nervous. Well someone was twitchy. Eliza quirked a brow and chuckled "Josephine, or Jo, right? Don't worry, I don't usually bite." She said, throwing a teasing little wink in there, because really, she couldn't help herself. Liza's eyes flicked to the professor when the woman walked in. She made sure to smile at her, first impressions were everything. "Ohh yeah, I've been waiting for this elective. This is the first year I've had time for it in my schedule. Zoology is a tough major." She said honestly, looking a bit exasperated.

((Im just gonna say to kill a mockingbird bc that's one that I know??))
Eliza grinned at the freshman when her eyes widened on learning Eliza's major. Yeah, she was kind of insane, but she liked herself that way "Yeah, it's a little bit crazy, but I love it, and my internship is insanely perfect, so I can't wait. It's a rare field." She explained, she was just excited to get started with all the animals. Hell, she would be working with them all; lions, tigers, and bears (oh my). It was most definitely something to look forward to. Eliza watched as people left the class, well that was stupid. A course like this looked amazing on transcripts, especially if there are feminists in the office. She spaced out some when the professor was talking about the syllabus and what the class would be like, she could just read the paper later and find out for herself. She was thinking about her party on Friday, and the gorgeous dress she'd bought when she was out with Max. It was so twenties, and of course he'd found it to be entrancing on her, so that was a plus, too. She liked him, and was hoping to get to know his muscles better after the party hey we're throwing together. She snapped out of her trance when Jo turned to look at her. "Oh, uhm, the book. Well I think the way people talk to Scout was supposed to show that no one really respected her, except for her father. It shows how they treated children, and especially women. And I'm betting Harper Lee is writing from somewhat of her own experience, how people treated her as a kid." She said, pulling things off of the top of her head to say.

The phone in his pocket went off, signalling that he received a text. That was strange. The only person that he ever got texts from was Tova - his sister - but she normally talked to him on weekends. Other than that, he got phone calls from students trying to set up tours or just asking him general questions. Rowan looked at the text, and when he saw it was from Jo, he couldn't help but smile a bit.
I'm about to get coffee, he replied to her, meet me outside of ur lecture hall when you're done?
It was a long shot, he knew it was, but if he could grab a cup of coffee - or even two - with a girl he had a little bit of interest in, why not give it a try?

By the time he reached the outside of the lecture hall, he wasn't sure if Jo had made her way out or not. Perhaps she was still in class, or maybe she even gave up on him and decided to ditch coffee. Rowan took in a deep breath and leaned up against one of the pillars near the doors, leaning his head against the stone to wait for the girl.

Why did people pick now to go hang out in the halls? Classes weren't even over yet, but she supposed this was how college life was. You pretty much did what you wanted, and you were the only one responsible for the consequences, Jo promised herself that she wouldn't cut class early again for a while... well maybe. This guy, well he kind of made her feel like she should take a leap or something, and for once that didn't scare her, too much. Jo pushed past a couple that were making out right on the doors, literally, and pushed through the doors to be in the shining sun. Her eyes slowly adjusted to the bright light and she found who she was looking for, a smile came over her face as she jogged over to him, "Rowan." She said in way of greeting, he looked so relax and cool, why couldnt' she be like that? Instead of awkward and bashful? "Ready?" Jo nudged him with her shoulder before heading down the steps from the Hall and heading toward the café.
