Hi everyone, first book group, total novice. Grew up reading James Herbert, still my favourite, so sad to have lost him. Stephen King, Peter Straub, Dean Koontz etc, you get the drift a horror fan, as well as all the classics. Started reading again to ease the strains and stress of work in May the year and managed 49 books to date this year. Found new authors and now love, Peter James and Peter May. Just started the Bill Rogers series.

Be kind to me and please recommend other authors I may want to try, gone reading mad. Have my two dogs for company....

I'm also new to the group, and still trying to decide what kind of thrillers I enjoy most. My favourite authors within the genre include Martin Cruz Smith (only the Renko novels), John le Carré and Peter Høeg (Smilla). See - problems already. Is it a crime novel, a thriller or spy fiction?

Other authors I enjoy within the action oriented books include Lee Child, Andy McNab, Terence Strong and Michael Crichton.

I look forward to contributing to the group.
