Dear Rachel:
I finished writing a 43,000 word vampire novella and am hoping to have someone edit and give me feedback on my book. If you know anyone from your class that might be interested in helping me out, please email me at Asmadeus11@yahoo.com.

I'd be most pleased if you would flex your editing muscles over my manuscript.
It is complete at 74 500 words and the first in a trilogy. Genre: dark YA fantasy and NOT with a clumsy heroine.
Please email me at harris.jeannine@gmail.com if you would like to give it a go.
Many thanks
Jeannine

Cheers!

I have a 250k novel, epic/dark fantasy, adult, which I'm currently reworking based on editing I've had done on it. I'm at roughly 33%.
400 years ago, mankind was slave to the Vhaells, but a bloody rebellion changed the world forever as humans claimed their freedom from their masters with sword and sorcery.
Now, mankind is led by the militaristic Brotherhood of Khan, the man who once led mankind to freedom, Sorcery has been labeled as a heresy and the Brotherhood uses fear of the Vhaells to rule undisputed.
Marac is a former assassin, living off odd jobs on the streets, laying low to avoid attention. When he gets hired by a hunted man to steal a trinket and accompany his client into Fey territory, things quickly spiral out of control.
Alex is a young Lightbearer. Gifted with the power to bend heat and light to her will, she is helpless to prevent the massacre of the hidden monastery where she spend her last few years. As she fled, she'd been given an important task though, she has to warn other Ezekan monasteries that the Darkbearers have gathered their strength and that they're a threat once more.
Soren is a young officer of the Brotherhood of Khan, the first major noble to enlist. As he graduates, he's given the task of hunting down collaborators of a heretic who was recently sighted in Tyranor. As he starts investigating, he soons find out there is more to that heretic's tale than what he'd been told.

At 19, Kijah feels like she's outgrowing her family's small urban farm. She also has questions about her real father, a Faenyr man her mother won’t talk about. Growing up in Treyu, at least, being half-blooded is common. But she just doesn't feel like she fits.
Then Zria walks into her life. A golden-fair Faenyr boy, a mirror to her own exotic looks. Everything she thought was turned upside down. Now she wonders about magic, and the nature of true power, as they explore each other’s worlds. She is swept up in newfound love that brings a whirlwind of change. For the first time in her life, she feels connected to herself, to Zria, and the world around her.
She knows it is all because of Zria: magic and charming and completely foreign. In a very short time, he has become her whole world. She feels so connected to Zria, that she forgets that he is truly Faenyr, in a way that she is not. What will she do when she realizes they may be less alike than she thought?

It was a pleasure working through the important questions that were raised, punctuation corrections, better word suggestions and information regarding tenses.
These suggestions, being brought to my attention, have enriched my story telling.
I would definitely recommend Rachel to other writers of the genres specified by her.
Best wishes
Jeannine

I'm looking for a beta reader for my 92k YA historical fantasy, "Gale."
Blurb:
Midsummer Day always brings change, but this year brings a selkie to Callum's Orkney shore. Haunted by a forgotten past, the fey girl befriends Callum, and they set out to solve her mystery. But just as the weather changes, so does the truth. They discover secrets about the past and each other, until a gale forces them apart. Callum must find her again, and she must free herself before it is too late.
Would you have time/interest in reading this?
Thanks!
Adrianne

I'm presently taking courses in becoming a copyeditor and developmental editor. I hope to flex my editing muscles by beta reading short stories and sections of novels.
I cannot take on editing an entire novel. This is a job that requires dozens of hours of work and likely should be compensated for fairly. Please do not ask me to look over your 100k plus story and fix any errors so it can be published. Please do not send me your manuscripts without me asking for them first.
Genres I am interested in:
Science-fiction
Fantasy
Mystery
Romance
Humor, satire, allegory
Contemporary
Suspense
Please note that there are topics I will not review:
Anything containing child abuse or rape
Anything with animal abuse
Torture scenes
Graphic killing scenes
Very gory material (Totally not against this genre, I just spook very easily)
If a manuscript has any of the above topics in it, I will stop reading your manuscript. Please respect my time and yours and do not ask me to read anything if it contains disturbing subject matter.
I am also allergic to extremely clumsy heroines!
Please feel free to send me a message if you feel that I would be a good beta reader for your work.
Thank you,
Rachel
