She sighed but nodded. “Okay fine.”

He smiled at her and then paused, "Okay, so, we're learning how to swim."
“What’s the first thing?” She asked
He started to explain the basics and then he paused, "okay?"
“Okay.” She took a deep breath, nodding.
"I'll step away, you try swimming to me, okay?" he said and took two steps away.
“Let me hold your hands first and kick some.” She asked
He nodded and held his hands out for her to take.
She took his hands and pushed off the bottom. She kicked her legs quickly.
He watched, giving an approving nod and a smile.
“I don’t like the feeling.” She said
"We don't have to do this," he offered.
“I need to learn how to swim.” She said
He nodded, "I agree," he said. "Try again," he encouraged.
She nodded and did some kicking practice again.
he carefully moved his arms to her waist, "Now try kicking while doing the arms motion I taught you."
“Okay but don’t let go.” She said
She did her arm moves and kicked for a few minutes.
"Now we try swimming," he said and took two steps away.
"You won't sink, I'm right here," he said.
She nodded and took a few breaths.
He smiled encouragingly and held his arms out for her.
She did her arm movements and kicks towards him, quickly.
She fell into him and smiled. “I did it!”
He beamed proudly, "you did!" He smiled at her, "I told you."
She laughed and sighed. “Yeah you did”.
He leaned down and gently kissed her, "again?" He asked.
He took a few steps away, further than last time.
She did it again, swimming to him.
She grinned. “Only because you’re catching me.”
"No, not only because I'm catching you," he laughed.
He smiled softly and started to quietly move them deeper into the sea.
“Oh no it’s too deep I can’t touch.” She started to kick frantically.
"Hey, hey, calm down, calm down," he said quickly, "don't worry, I've got you."
She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and held on tightly.
"See, it's not so bad, right?" He questioned.
He smiled softly and held onto her, "why don't you try swimming to me again here?" he asked.
“But I don’t know how to float.” She frowned
He paused and then nodded before explaining how it worked to her.
“Can I practice floating first?” She asked
He nodded, "i'll hold onto your waist while you practice."
