She smiled lightly and nodded.

He smiled and grabbed a slice of the margarita pizza. “So.”
“Do you know what you’re getting yourself into?” She looked over at him.
He looked what her, “what?” He questioned.
“With me. And what I do. What I am.” She clarified.
She shook her head. “Books can’t train you for this.”
She sighed softly. “Just, try not to hate me too much.”
“I wont,” He answered, annoyed that she’d think that way about him.
Her left eyebrow twitched and she jerked her head slightly, then sighed.
He carefully put his hands on her chin and lifted it up so she was looking at his face.
She blinked, meeting his eyes. "What."
He searched her face and then gently kissed her lips. “What do I have to do to prove to you that I’m not going anywhere?” He asked when he pulled away
She kissed him back. “It’s not about whether you’re going to leave or not.” She said.
“It’s about knowing what I’m capable of.” She said
“I do know what you’re capable of,” he said.
“And that doesn’t scare you?” She asked.
“I’ve been through a lot,” he shrugged. “Barely anything scares me.”
“Well, There’s nothing I can do about it,” he answered.
She rolled her eyes and looked back at the skyline.
Though he was annoyed, he decided to just say, “look, I didn’t bring you here to argue, alright? So let’s just have fun or whatever people do on dates.”
She sighed and nodded. “You’re right. I’m sorry. My fault.” She said
“Okay,” he smiled softly and grabbed one last piece of pizza.
“I don’t know what I’m doing.” She laughed.
“Only know the sex stuff.” She winked.
He laughed softly, “well, that’s all I know about being with someone.”
“So...tell me about your family.” She ssid
“Not much to tell,” he said softly. “We were a family of hunters.”
“What’s that mean though?” She asked.
“Means that hunting is a thing everyone in the family does, or should do. Passed down for generations,” he answered.
“Yeah but how does a hunter family, work? Like, function?” She asked.
“Hell no,” he laughed bitterly. “It’s abusive and wrong. Imagine having to force children to learn how to use knives and guns and then slowly preparing them to kill things, innocent or otherwise. As long as they’re not human, you kill them.”
“Yeah,” he nodded staring over the cliffs.
“I’m really sorry.” She took his hand.
He laced his fingers through hers and lifted it to his lips. He gently kissed it, “it’s alright, not your fault.”
