She nodded. "I just wanted to ask you if I...if you get custody or not that if I could just...talk to Amelia? Just for a minute?@

Elian watched her and though he was grateful for her words during the meeting, he was still protective over Amelia towards her. He paused and looked at Natalia, "alright, just for a minute." He said hesitantly.
She nodded, sighing softly with relief. "You can watch I just...want to explain what's going on to her." She said."She's outside," Natalia said. "Lets go before the break is over."
Elian nodded, "alright," he said and wrapped his arm around Natalia before leading the way outside.
Natalia leaned into him, rubbing his lower back as they went outside.
Elian smiled at Amelia when he saw her and then moved to the side so that they weren't in the way and so that Chelsea could talk with Amelia.
Elian looked at Natalia and rested his head against hers.
Amelia smiled up cutely, "hi." She said.
"Do you know who I am?" She crouched down so she was level with her.
"You're my..." she glanced at Rebecca. "Bigolical Momma," she said, smiling.
Chelsea giggled, nodding. "That means that I'm your real mommy." She took her hand.
Amelia looked at her, "really?" She asked, breaking out into a grin.
She nodded. "But, I'm not good enough to take care of you." Her voice broke. "You won't understand now, but when you're older I'm hoping your dad will explain it well enough so that you don't hate me", she sniffed. "I'm very sick, Amelia. And I don't know if I'll get better." A few tears ran down her cheek. "But Natalia is your new mommy, okay? She'll be such a better mommy than I could ever be."

Elian froze when she said that and Amelia's face fell. "What?" She asked. "But why?" She asked, hugging her around the neck since she could reach her there.
Chelsea hugged her back, shocked a little that she admitted she was sick and that Amelia was hugging her. "You're to young to understand but it's my fault." She tried not to cry.
Amelia held onto her tightly. "Mommy," she said.Elian ran his hand through his hair tensely. "Chelsea," he said, feeling like he had to say something.
Chelsea stood up with Amelia in her arms, not wanting to let her go. She looked at Elian over Amelia's shoulder. "What?"
Elian sighed, "it's not too late... You can still make it right. She wont remember anything later on," he said softly.
She bit her lip. "I don't deserve her, Elian", she said. "I'm not good for her." She sniffled. "I just kind want you to teach her about who I am and make her understand why I'm not going to be around."
"She doesn't have to know that," he said, referring to her former statement. "You don't have to be around her a lot either, just maybe weekly visits?" He asked.
She nodded hesitantly. "That's up to you." She said. "But I don't want you taking pity on me."
"I'm not taking pity on you," he said. "The only reason I was so cold before was because I thought you left her because you didn't want her."
She shrugged. "Of course I wanted her but I knew I couldn't take care of her." She said.
He nodded, "well, I know that now and thats why I'll allow you weekly visits... As long as you're 100% sober."
"I have no choice but to be sober." She said. "Elian, I need a new heart." She admitted.
He blinked and watched her, "you have a heart condition?" He asked carefully.
She nodded. "I'll need a new heart within the next three years." She sniffled.
She shrugged. "It's my fault." She said. She put Amelia down.
Rebecca came up to them. "He made a decision." She said.Chelsea touched Amelia's hair, sighing.
"Think about it," Elian said, nodding to his aunt, "hey, Milly, lets go back inside." He said, holding his hand out for her.
"I will." Chelsea nodded.Amelia ran up to him, taking his hand.
He smiled and walked into the courtroom again. He seated her with his aunt and then went to take his own seat.
Natalia sat beside him, taking his hand."Welcome back everyone. I have made my decision." The judge said.
Elian took Natalia's hand and held it tightly.
"I went over the evidence and I've come to the decision that Elian and Natalia Kendrick are granted full custody over Amelia Rose. Court dismissed." He smacked his thing on the wood.Natalia gasped, shooting up to her feet. She jumped into Elian's arms, squealing.
Elian's eyes widened and he stayed completely frozen.
"Baby you got your baby." Natalia was crying.
Elian looked up at Natalia and then Amelia before he broke down into tears.
Amelia ran across the aisle and jumped into him. Natalia picked Amelia up and the two of them hugged Elian.
Elian caught her and hugged her tightly. He cried softly and hugged her to him, only letting her go so Natalia could hug her.
"I love you so much." Natalia cried. She kissed his head and Amelia's.
He hugged her and nodded, "I love you."
She giggled through he tears and just held them.
