She shook her head. "You didn't." She yawned.
"My thoughts woke me up." She sighed
"I never thought about it until today but this baby will probably be like me." She admitted
"I mean like a necromancer like me." She said.
She sighed softly and closed her eyes.
She rolled onto her other side, facing away from him.
He paused before he put an arm around her waist and pulled her to him. He curled his knees into her so they were spooning. "Please stop worrying."
She shimmied back against him. "It's hard not to." She said.
"I know," he said and kissed the back of his head. "He or she will be okay."
She closed her eyes and slowly started to fall asleep.
He stared at the back of her head until he couldn't fight sleep.
((Maybe skip to the day before the court meeting? Amelia's mother shows up for a tattoo by him and Natalia is just there?))
Elian had a quick client. She just wanted a moon on her shoulder and that was it. When he was done, he received his money and she left. While he was putting the money into the cashier, he called, "I'll be with you in a moment." He said, offering a smile to Natalia.
Natalia was sitting in his tiny office, working on some stuff for tomorrow. She smiled and nodded.
He went back to what he had been doing. He finally closed the cashier and walked around the counter to grab his sketchbook and pencil but when he lifted his head, he froze. "What would you...?" He trailed off when he saw who it was.
Chelsea turned around to face him, her shoulder length brown hair swinging. She smiled. "Hello Elian." She said soflty.
"Chelsea," he whispered, he set his sketchbook and pencil down. "What're you doing here?" He asked, glancing behind him to Natalia in his office.
"I'm here to get a tattoo of course." She said. "I also found myself back in the city temporarily so I decided why not pop by." She smiled. "You look good." She sat in one of the chairs.
"I know," he said simply. "What makes you think you're welcome here?" He asked. "What makes you think I'm going to do your stupid tattoo?" He glared at her.
She sighed. "Oh stop, Elian. We're both adults here." She said. "Hey I had a question about where you were born-" Natalia started, coming out of the office. She raised her eyebrows. "Oh hello." Natalia smiled, unaware of who Chelsea was.
"I'm an adult and you want money. I'm also not giving you any," he said, glaring at her. "Ge—" he glanced back at Natalia before he swallowed, "do you want a tattoo or not? But you're going to have to pay for it."
Natalia furrowed her brows and crossed her arms over her chest. It's only been a few weeks but she looked pregnant now. "Of course I'm going to pay for it." She scoffed. She was dressed nicely and held a pretty expensive purse. She lowered it and looked up at Natalia, then at Elian, then at Natalia's belly. "You're shitting me." She laughed.
It wasn't until now that he actually looked her over. "What? Surprised i actually moved on from your cruel games?" He grabbed his sketchbook and pencil again, "describe what you want me to tattoo, Chelsea."
Natalia's eyebrows lifted even higher. "Chelsea? As in your crazy ex?" Chelsea glared at Natalia. "That would be me." She said, then smiled at Elian. "Amelia's birthdate in Roman numerals on the back of my neck."
He nodded and glared at Chelsea. "No, don't you fucking dare say her name," he snapped. "I wont do it."
"Hey she's my daughter to! I carried her for nine months," she argued. Natalia approached, standing behind Elian.
"Then you literally abandoned her!" He said, "she is my daughter. I don't care if you carried her for a hundred years, you don't get to walk in here and act like a mother after abandoning her."
"I'm not acting like a mother." She said simply. "Well, not a present one anyways. But no matter what Amelia will always be my daughter and I'll always be her mother." She said. "Whether you like it or not."
"I don't give a flying fuck. Natalia might not have carried her but she's her mother," he snapped. "4. Amelia is 4. And she's turning 5. You're not allowed to just walk into her life 5 years after her gave her up."
"Who said I wanted to walk into her life again?" Chelsea crossed her arms. "I'm not allowed too even if I wanted to." She looked at Natalia. "Looks like she's already a mother of her own."
"Thats what it looks like you're trying to do," he said. "Whatever tattoo you want, you may get it else where. Goodbye."
"What terrible service you have here." She sighed, getting up. "I'm in town for your court meeting tomorrow." She noted, putting her purse over her arm.
He tensed, "how do you know about that?" He asked, glaring at her.
