Half a BZZT! They're all crime scenes. C is indeed the one that is different. But HOW is it different from the others?
The crimes were murders but not C).
DING DING DING! That's one and a half DINGS to each of you. That stairway belonged to Ariel "Air Yell" Castro, and nobody died on the stairs or in the rooms it leads up to. A) is the stairway where Katie Peterson was murdered; B) is the stairway leading into the theater where James Holmes opened fire on so many Batman fans; C) leads up to the rooms where Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina Dejesus were held captive for 10 years; D) is the stairway leading to Marc Dutroux's sex dungeon, where 2 young girls were left to starve to death; and E) is the apartment entryway where Kitty Genovese died.
