People (like myself) often have a love/hate relationship with movies based on books. Consensus will say that most people prefer the book over the movie, but there are often times when the movie is just as good as or in some cases even, better than the book. On that note:

In what case(s) did you prefer a movie adaptation over the book?

What movie adapted from a book do you wish was never made?

What book would you like to see made into a movie, and who would you like to star in/direct it?

My answers:

In what case(s) did you prefer a movie adaptation over the book?

There is one instance where I felt that the movie was satisfactorily made in accordance with the book, and that was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I felt like the movie followed the book very well, and the actors chosen for the roles were very believable and convincing. I think it helped that Gillian Flynn wrote the screenplay.
Also, A clockwork Orange written by Anthony Burgess and directed by Stanley Kubrick. I am a huge fan of Kubrick's work.

What movie(s) adapted from a book do you wish was/were never made?

My Sister's Keeper, written by Jodi Picoult. Hands down, the worst movie adaptation I have ever watched.

What book would you like to see made into a movie, and (bonus) who would you like to star in/direct it?

When I picture a book that I think should be adapted into a movie, I think of Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica. I obsessed over the book, and with the right writers and directors I think it would be an awesome movie.
