Megalion | 484 comments The following comments are really about the series so far. I'd received this book for free in exchange for my honest review and I decided to find and read the first two before starting this one.

This is the 3rd book in a series set in a restaurant called Sin Du Jour. A restaurant like no other.
The label "urban fantasy" is a turn off for some people but I'd say don't let that stop you.

My new favorite genre is "speculative fiction" and this series straddles the line between.

If you're a fan of Spider Robinson's Callahan's Saloon series. Or Robert Asprin's M.Y.T.H. books. This series reminds me of both and actually touches the middle ground between them in terms of reality vs fantasy.

It's madcap fun and you never really know what to expect. Certainly not a homicidal Easter Bunny lurking behind your front door. Which happened in this book. Half of the staff also goes to Hollywood which brings up a different set of challenges as well.

All three books were quick, fun, and satisfying for comic relief. Having read them back to back, it's difficult for me to judge if this one can be read as a stand alone.

I think it can. The general cast of characters, are getting their backstories told. But split up among the books. It's possible to read a Callahan's or M.Y.T.H. book out of order, I think the same is true here.

If you can though, start at the beginning so you don't lose even the tiniest bit of fun in plot reveals.

I'm adding this to my list of series that I follow. Hope Matt's far from done. We still haven't heard White Horse's story. Or Hara's.
