• My Death Flags Show No Sign of Ending by Izumi An ordinary university student found everywhere, Hirasawa Kazuki, was in possession a game character’s body when he came to his senses. Moreover, it was Harold Stokes’, the story’s most hated figure who held the title 『King of Trash 』. For him, tons of landmines appearing like death flags are in his surroundings! Can Kazuki evade the mountainous amount of death flags and advance through the survival route !?
Personal review: This novel is down right entertaining and lightly dramatic. Harold's entire personality is a walking contradiction where his words doesnt match his actions. He says abusive words and generally has no respect for anyone. His actions however are the complete opposite! When he says arrogant things, he says it with no lie or malice. When he calls people weak, he'll move to help them. When someone is in danger, he'll come up with a convuluted plan to save them while threatening to outright kill them! I've enjoyed this all the way to its current update and I totally recommend it for anyone to read.
• The Amber Sword by Fei Yan An RPG gamer who played the realistic VRMMORPG ‘The Amber Sword’ for years, finds himself teleported to a parallel world that resembled the game greatly. He takes on the body of an NPC who was fated to die, and with the feelings of the dying NPC and his own heartrending events in the game, he sets out to change the fate of a kingdom that was doomed to tragedy.
Personal Review: Okay, this one is a chinese light novel BUT it is written in a way anything BUT the typical chinese novel with uncles and weird creature names and special attacks. The story follows Brendell who is now set in the PAST of the game he loves. He is now a tactical genius due to him knowing all the enemies patterns and plans. Follow Brendell as he gathers a ragtag group of militia, merchants, refugees, and mercenaries, leads them cross country elluding and defeating a whole army of undead and eventually try and find his own kingdom to save himself and his comrades.
• World Teacher – Other World Style Education & Agent by NEKO kouichi
A man who was once called the world’s strongest agent ended up becoming a teacher after his retirement, to train a new generation of agents. After many years of training his disciples, he was killed at the age of 60 by a secret organization’s ruse and was reincarnated in another world with his memories intact.
Though he was surprised by the existence of magic and the strange species in that world, he quickly adapted to his condition as a newborn and took advantage of it. He acquired special magic and gained a massive amount of strength thanks to his rigorous discipline, in order to reach his goal: Resume his career as a teacher which he left halfway through in his previous life.
This is the story of a man, who, based on the memories and the experiences of his previous life, became a teacher who travels through the world with his students.
Personal Review: This one is pretty straight forward, but I thorougly enjoy it as the MC isn't dense (just trying to deny the inevitable though for a bit longer since his body is still a child), isn't naive to the evils of the world, and doesn't hesitate to kill.
• The New Gate by KAZANMI Shinogi “THE NEW GATE”, an online game that trapped its players and turned into a death game, was now releasing the thousands of players that had been dragged into it, thanks to the efforts of Shin, one of the most powerful players.
But after having defeated the last boss and freed everyone, he was swallowed up by a strange light and found himself inside the game world 500 years in the future and unable to leave.
Personal Review: So just as the summary says, the MC has already experienced the "trapped in a game" trope with all the other players. And now he moves on to his next adventure, being stuck into the virtual world come to life! Follow Shin as he is literally an existance that could wipe out a country if he so much as sneezes in the wrong way, meet up with his companions of old, reunite with his Elf-waifu, and try to find a way home if he can.
Oh, and there might be demons he has to defeat, make sure his existance is kept a secret as he literally carries and MAKES God-tier equipment countries would go to war for, and try to keep a promise that has yet to be revealed! Piece of cake!
• Sevens by Wai Lyle Walt is a young noble boy and heir looking forward to the day he can inherit his family’s territory. Except around when he was 10 year old, his parents started neglecting him more and more in favour of his little sister, Celes. On his fifteenth birthday, he is challenged to a duel by his sister to see who will inherit the household and horribly loses, being cast out of his family.
Afterwards, he gets treated by the family groundskeepers and receives the family heirloom Gem from him that Lyle’s grandfather had entrusted to him. From there, he begins an aimless journey with his childhood friend and former fiancée, Novem, and the Gem-turned-Jewel that houses the memories, personalities, and Skills of seven of his ancestors.
Personal Review: The true shining characters of this fic are the generation heads in Lyle's gem. They're hilarious and push Lyle to improve his character, all the while voting for "Mr. Lyle", Lyle's state of mind that loses all inhibition and flirts and captures female after female that are within the family precepts.
The entire novel is parts serious and parts hilarious. It knows when to mix them and when to separate them.
Lyle starts out weak, but he's ridiculously talented and easily becomes over powered.
Despite that, his little sister is still downright scary. Like, mind controll an entire country scary.
Sevens is kind of bland until after the Gryphon arc (which was the worst arc). But it's certainly turned into one of the better WNs/LNs after it picked up.
