Jessica Beck is one of the pen names for Tim Myers who writes several cozy series under different names. Here's his page on SYKM

Oops, I guess I was too anxious to start it. Well, I can add another book from this series to make up for it.

Well, that's interesting. I didn't know that, Nell, thanks.

LOL, I understand your eagerness to read! :-D

My pick for you is the Cedar Bay series. I don't know the series or author but I will be checking out that series at some point.

Good and funny, I will never look at housework in the same way again.

Have you read Leslie Langtry's Bombay Family series or her Merry Wrath series? I recommend both. The Bombay family are a family of assassins and Merry Wrath is a former CIA field agent who is "retired" because she was outed and is now living under a new name. I find both series laugh out loud funny.

I didn't love it (Does every description have to include some coffee-inspired comparison? I get that coffee is your world, but come on now), but I did like it enough to want to read more in the series.

The clock is Pacific time.

The clock is Pacific time.

I felt the same way, Mia. I read the first and haven't yet gotten around to picking up the 2nd in the series. Since I'm not a coffee-lover myself, it was even less attractive. But I will continue with the series one of these days. Hmm, maybe I should add it to my list for future serial reader months.

Louise, this series was for my July serial challenge. I have the same sentiments as you. After I read the second book, I am still sitting on the fence as to whether I want to continue with the series or not. Luckily, these are very short cozies.

Wish my selection for you had been a better read for you. :(

Thanks Becky for chosing this series for me..

Thanks ..."
You're welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed them!

I'm kind of torn on the Coffeehouse Mystery Series. There's nothing particularly wrong with the stories and they even seem better written than other cozies I've read, but it was still hard for me to get into them. Not sure if I'll continue reading them.

I totally understand where you're coming from, Mia. I read a couple of the books in this Coffeehouse series because another mystery group I'm in reads this series. Plus I love coffee!! But I just couldn't get into the character nor the mysteries. I know others love this series. It's just a matter of choice and my choice was not to continue and focus on other series I know I love.

A lot happens with the characters between book 1 and book 15. That's quite a jump. Part of your response may be the lack of continuity.

To get involved in White House shenanigans is certainly quite a leap from where I last saw the protagonist, but I'm not sure that's why I feel this way. I remember feeling similarly unenthused after finishing the first book, which arguably should be the best one since that's the one that's supposed to hook new readers.
I might return to this series in the future, but for right now, I have enough in my TBR pile.

However, I'm taking a break and reading something different before next month's challenge starts.

I found the murder case better than the book before, but the main character drives me crazy. She acts childish and I am extremly annoyed! So I give only 4 instead of 5 stars.
Hope it will be better in the third book (will be published at December).

Good luck with your move, Becky.
