Reminder I'm going Saturday 7/23 @7:30pm, so if you're interested in seeing the show let's coordinate!
So, I looked incorrectly...we will be there Saturday! The last time we went on a Friday, a band was playing at Europa and we could barely hear the play at Bailey.
It was great seeing you there Saturday! Except for a little too much Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson drifting in periodically, I thought the show was fun, and well done. And the weather cooperated to make it a perfect night. I'll let you know if we're planning to also attend Two Gentlemen of Verona next month.
We more than likely will. I guess Taylor Swift is a better trade off than a bad 80's hair bad singing Pour Some a sugar on Me :)

I wanted to let you all know that the "Shakespeare in the Vines" troupe will be performing Hamlet starting this weekend at the Baily Winery in Temecula Wine Country (summary and link provided below). I have seen a few of their performances previously, and for a local, non-profit group they put on a very good show. I have already gotten tickets for next Saturday 7/23 @7:30pm, so if you'd like to make it an in-between Book Club meetings get-together, it's at a Winery, so I think the most important aspect of our meetings will be there - i.e. WINE!. :)
Let me know if you plan on attending that date so we can be sure to share in a pre-show glass, and any intermission or post-show analysis (or additional glasses of vino). Hope to see you there!

Hamlet is a revenge story - a son's quest for avenging his father's murder, but it is the telling that raises it to the level of a masterpiece. …..Prince Hamlet is tormented and depressed. Summoned home to Denmark to attend his father's funeral, he is shocked to find his mother Gertrude already remarried to Hamlet's Uncle Claudius, the dead king's brother. To Hamlet, the marriage stinks of "foul incest." Especially when the ghost of his father appears demanding revenge against his brother for his murder. Considered to be Shakespeare’s masterpiece, love, lust and hatred are discovered anew in this timeless classic. The audience is swept into an intimate engagement and Hamlet's tragedy becomes the tragedy of every individual.
No nation or times are strangers to political intrigues and love affairs. Scandals in the court are scintillating without being surprising. With the words "something is rotten in the state of Denmark", Shakespeare underlines the universality of 'rotten'-ness.
