Sunny (travellingsunny) I've only just started the reading for week ending 10/25. So far, I'm not enjoying it as much as The Captive, but we'll see. :)

Sunny (travellingsunny) I still don't think I fully understood it, but I found it amusing that he worried about how he couldn't bring little girls home anymore, and then extended that to believe it might be inappropriate for even Albertine to live there again.

Sunny (travellingsunny) Do you mean about his house was being watched, and the constable telling him not to be so obvious about it when he wants to hang out with little girls?

Dave (adh3) | 779 comments Yes. What I got out of it was, although what exactly went on, it was at least inappropriate if not criminal (police involvement indicated some sort of standards). But he didn't seem to see what the big deal was. I came away from that thinking the whole thing was another notch in his creepiness. He is an anti-hero for me.

Sunny (travellingsunny) Should we believe the story that Aime is getting from the laundry woman? Maybe the laundry woman is just as good at telling stories as she is at "performing?" HAHAHA!

Sunny (travellingsunny) I have finished the reading from week-ending 10/25. WHICH MEANS... I am starting the current week's reading. I'm only DAYS behind the group now, not weeks. WOO-HOO!

Or maybe Aimé is embellishing it or completely making it up...I'm just not sure!

I'm also not sure what to believe. But it was pretty funny! LOL

I am so mistrustful of everything right now. (Paranoid?) I feel like I'm reading a detective novel and Proust keeps throwing red herrings at me. LOL!
