adding book covers

can we add/change book covers to editions that don't have a cover? I know we aren't supposed to change already existing covers, but I assume that the beige or white covers aren't actually covers.

Correct, that isn't a cover. There are also Amazon generic covers that could be replaced with real covers should one be found. The Amazon generics actually say on them "not the real cover" or some such wording.

Correct. In fact, the linked one doesn't have anything to remove. If you go to that edition's edit page, you'll see there's no cover image at all yet.
