I'm not a big fan of reading the villain's point-of-view, but it did let us get to know the way he thinks. He has a huge ego and it sounds like he has planned these types of jobs many times.

I always find it interesting, and chilling, having the adversary's point of view as the story unfolds. It was true here, too, until the end of the story where it fell apart. Otherwise, I was hooked.
