Rei So I recently finished Memories of Ash by Intisar Khanani (great book by the way) and I want something to read that is somewhat similar. I'd prefer something with romance, magical bonding and perhaps a journey tossed in there or some overall mission, duty, goal, etc. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could recommend could help cause I'm a bit stuck in a rut.

Lynne Stringer | 344 comments Have you tried the Shadowfell trilogy by Juliet Marillier? Not sure it's quite what you're looking for but it might suit. Shadowfell (Shadowfell, #1) by Juliet Marillier

Rei I'd like something more non-western. I'm finding it more intriguing. But thank you for the responses. I have tried Falling Kingdoms, but perhaps I gave up too soon on it. I also did start with Shadowfell, though I didn't get very far with that either.

Danielle's Books (daniellesbooks) | -46 comments If you haven't read it already I recommend The Iron King by Julie Kagawa! I LOVE the Iron Fey series and it is FULL of adventure! It also has romance! I'm not quite sure what magical bonding is, but it definitely has magic in it!

Ayan | 76 comments The Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy is a fantastic read! Has romance, magic, fantasy, and takes place in the real world and a fictional one. I think this book fits on what you want for your next read.

Kelsey Haggerty About a month ago I finished reading A Court of Thorns and Roses as well as book 2 (A Court of Mist and Fury) and I absolutely loved both books! Personally I love the completely different world settings and new fiction fantasies, so if you like that as well as adventure and romance, this book would suit you!!!

I read it while it was coming out in English translation and yes I agree It was totally amazing. I still love it.

Also, I already own A Court of Mist and Fury and started it. No spoilers please!! I want to love it as much as you do. But yea, I completely agree that I like different world settings, especially the ones pre-machinery that usually has magic. Like Tamora Pierce. Her Tortall series is one of my favs
