July 2016: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

Here are a few discussion points/questions to get the ball rolling:

- What is the relationship between Watson/Holmes

- How do other stories and adaptation , or media outlets, compare to the original (i.e. film, novels, graphic novels, etc.)

- Holmes is an iconic character, did he live up to the expectations?

Has anyone read the longer stories and how do you think the short story form compares?

It has been many years but I have read the Complete Sherlock Holmes and liked it a lot. I hesitated to join this read through as I have only that complete volume and knew, if I started it, I would read the whole thing.
As far as the longer stories go, they are much more detailed than the short cases. They have a more detailed background often with now historical aspects illuminating the world of that time. I enjoyed the longer tales more than the short ones.
