Scan barcode feature

Hello,

I am interested in integrating the scan barcode feature in an app. I was wondering whether you are using an SDK (and if so which one) or the feature was implemented by your IT team. I work for a company implementing energy monitoring solutions and we would like to find an SDK for OCR to use it in the scanning of the energy meter reading.

I must confess that the scan barcode feature of the goodreads is totally awesome! :-)

I would very much appreciate any help or information from your side about your solution.
