Just checking: if I merge the placeholder into Kindle edition, it would not impact the giveaway for the paperback edition, right?

Jenny Jaeckel | 7 comments I mistakenly entered my book with the wrong ISBN, then the correct edition showed up when it appeared on Amazon. So, this is a flawed duplicate. Thanks for help removing:

We avoid doing merges on works with current giveaways in progress. While most of the time they go through without a problem, occasionally it causes an issue.

#240 - this edition was published at a different (earlier) time from the other edition it is combined with. No merge, unless you are indicating that the 2002 edition is invalid? As I can see it, the same ISBN was used for both the first and second editions of this work.

In principle, I agree. But even the originator of the ISBN (Barnes & Noble) can’t find the ISBN. So what basis exists for its alleged association with an actual publication? [Not arguing: trying to understand. :-)]
