But then am scared to be your partner, as I am sure of being suggested a fantasy from my shelves.. my last partner was also a fantasy freak...
And Manju herself sees to it that I am on a steady diet of fantasies :P

message 91: by Mridupawan (new)

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Alright Smitha,

*rubs hands in glee*

Book 1 for you is The Final Empire

I'm aghast that you haven't started it yet. But when you do start, make sure you've the time to read the trilogy back to back.

Or, you can read book 2 i.e., Touch
This is not a fantasy which you're trying to avoid. This is one author who I absolutely love other than Jodi Picoult. So go for it.

And since I played fair, be kind to me.

message 100: by Glen (new)

Glen D'souza | 207 comments Indrani, I recommend the following books

1. The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins : This book is a landmark book in the sensation novel genre and one of the first mystery books ever written.

2. The Alienist by Caleb Carr : This book explores the development of the field of psychological profiling of suspects. So this book will be good.
