SOLVED. Sci fi/steampunk book about film making and space travel-> Not Hugo Cabret. [s]

Ok, I remember seeing this book on a buzzfeed book list a while ago. I remember the blurb saying something about it having a "filmy quality" and about how there was space travel. the cover reminded me a little of the cover for the Night Circus and there was an image of someone with an old camera and a stylized space ship. I think (?) the plot was about a girl who made movies, but what she really wanted to do was explre space? The setting was kind of like steampunk but I think it was the same time period as Hugo Cabaret would have been. This is so annoying, I REALLY WANT TO READ IT.
