Julia, is this sci-fi romance for young adults/teens or older adults?
Is the hero human?
Can you tell us more about the heroine - her job, mission, etc.?
Do they crash in the woods on Earth or another planet?

I read it as a teen, but I think I took it from my mom, so I am going to say adult. I don't think it was particularly graphic, but there was more sex than series romance novels had back then.
Sweet Starfire by Jayne Ann Krentz?
One Goodreads reviewer says: "Futuristic adventurous love story, told in 3rd person, set on distant planets. In this mythos, humans have evolved into two types: Harmonics (intuitive, telepathic, intelligent, peaceful) and Wolves (strong, physical, sexy, canny, earthy -- but human, not shifters). Cidra Rainforest was born to Harmonic parents, and like her family, she is serene and intelligent, but she lacks the special Harmonic telepathic abilities. She leaves home to search for a legendary artifact with the power to hopefully augment her sixth sense. She asks Teague Severance, a Wolf, the captain/owner of a spaceship, to convey her to other worlds for her search."

Telepathics were called saints. His brother was a telepath born into "normal" society.
