Basically, same as everyone else said.
+ If you meant "depression" in a medical-psychiatric sense, then I too have it, and understand how that can feel. Are you taking any medication?
+ Ok, so you see all these mega efficient ppl improving themselves, like pokemon evolving three stages at a time. Well, how about we look at me? I'm not doing anything, anything at all to improve myself. Not now, not before the isolation thing (well, if you don't count learning to evade the police while going to a coffee shop + reading laws to know how I'm protected against fines for various things one isn't "allowed" to do in quarantine). I might devolve into a cabbage in a year. While you're doing stuff. So see, you could do better, but you could do alot WORSE. I know this might not help much (like siobhan said, depression doesn't care), but maybe you'll smile for just a moment, who knows...
+ During my rehab for alcoholics, they made ppl do an assigment. You had to write down all the {blank} things you did that day. For me it was new-behavior things. But in your case it could be "improving" things. And it doesn't matter how small the thing is. I wrote down things like: I shaved, I put on new socks, etc. And you know what, it helped me take pride in the things I do. After rehab, it helped that my friends were supportive when I said things like "This week I washed my hair especially for u, aren't I awesome?!"
Do you share your improving-things with your friends? What's their reaction?

Bernadette is awesome!
Another weirdly relaxing channel is Nail Career Education. I never paint my nails, keep them meticulously short and would never get acrylic nails but somehow watching her do nails for half an hour is sooo calming!
Here's a random video, I actually really like that design :)

Oh what is it? Another Twilight book?

Ahhh I see! I missed all this going on haha.
Why release it after all this time when she's no longer relevant?
(Because millions of people will buy it anyway and she needs some money I suppose!)

Yup. Whenever I see something like this i always assume that some bills came up and they needed money.
I assume that since the new hunger games book is coming, all these people will be trying to capitalize on the nostalgia moment.

Ah yes I forgot about that one too!

You should have seen the twitter posts when it was announced. People sobbing with happiness. Its actually the number one trending hashtag on twitter at the moment lol.

That's hilarious that her mum asks for it for her birthday every year! 😂 That's a good reason to get it done haha.

I see what you mean! Nail art really isn't my scene, but I watched a couple episodes and I love how enamoured she is with the results. You see how much fun she is having.

Oh, didn't know about that!

Haha, at the sacrifice of all else! 😅
Congrats on the new job! What you doing?

Congratulations on the new job! How are you feeling about it? Excited? Relieved? Resigned?
I know how you feel though. I'm amazed at the sheer number of books some members devour. While I often prefer to digest my books more slowly, and don't necessarily think that more is better, I do wish I could join in more Buddy Reads! I usually can only manage one or two a month. Some are so tempting, but alas I need to rein in my zealous ambition to something more realistic.

I've been at it for 4 jours and a third of my books is still on the floor. Why am I doing this to myself? At least I don't have to workout any more today 😂

Hahaha that happens to me every time! It seems like such a good idea until all my books are on the floor! :D

my books are generally stacked smth like this:

Did you see the news story about the Library that shutdown and did a deep clean?... The "helpful" cleaners put the books back on the shelf by size... so they have their work cut out for them on resorting... but the library is closed anyway, so it gives them something to do...

They're quite uniform in the UK, two paperback sizes, and hardback. You get the odd weird exception.
My two hates: a series changing from small paperback to large half way through so they don't match! Or vice versa.
Having to buy an American paperback! The sizes seem bizarre to me and match none of my books! They stick out like a sore thumb on the shelf!! 😂

Haha, I haven't seen that 😂
I'm done now. Sorting by height didn't always work out because I have a bunch of different sizes besides the classic english tall books, mass market and trade paperbacks.
And I noticed how many mass markets I have. Everybody seems to hate them but I actually kind of like them.

I have to have mine alphabetically by author or I can't find anything!

Congrats on the new job! What you doing?
Lmao!!

Thank you! Excited, it should be interesting and they seem like a friendly team so it'll be good getting to know them.
I know right! Like how??!! I do agree with you though, I'm glad reading several at a time works for some people, but I think it would really take away from the story for me. And it is because loads of buddy reads look so interesting, but I just have to be patient and get there eventually.
I have my Classics organized chronologically, and my other books arranged by genre and then by author.

I have an excel list of all my books, and besides a ton of other info, I write down which book is on which shelf. Otherwise I'm lost in a sea of literally a thousand books. Organizing alphabetically is not an option for me cuz I need books of certain sizes in certain places so that I can put other books on top horizontally. It's all cuz I'm very short on space for books. I'm constrained by one room and have to throw out old books to accomodate new ones.

Here is Andy Serkis (Gollum) reading The Hobbit for more comforting read and listens, should anyone be interested.

Yeah I'd seen the library deepclean.

I organize by genre but within each genre I don't really care that much which book is where. I have 'only' around 600 books and I have three different bookshelf corners in my room and know which genre is in which corner. So it's actually not that hard to find books. If I had a lot more books than I do then I'd probably organize with more method, too.

I never read the Hunger Games either 😅
I did read Twilight back in the day in school because everybody was going crazy over it, so I had to know what the hype was about. 13 year old me actually liked it ☺

I organize by genre and then have them organized alphabetically by author within each genre. It wouldn't be so hard to find them if I had less books, that's for sure.

As an audio listener, when keeping books stored on my PC/HDD to cut down on redownloading, I modify the titles to sort chronologically by series, to make it easier to add & remove from my phone...
So Moontide Quartet will be MQ01 to MQ04... short stories will be X.5 unless there's a ton, then it'll be X.1 or X.01... and when my collection gets unwieldy, I just delete from iTunes Library without sending to Trash Can... can easily re-add when it's time for re-reads... step 2 is transferring to External HDD...

But yeah last few months have been interesting for me since I got a job (furloughed now) I’ve been working on my projects now not films unfortunately but I’ve been doing other stuff like gaming in twitch and stuff on YouTube which has really been amazing.
But yeah looks like I got a lot of catching up and cleaning to do...... So hi everybody ☺️☺️☺️

Haha, you think so? I'm not sure if it really is better... I'm not a big fan of orange...
And Hellooo Ahdam :)

Hooray, our main library opened last Monday! I was so happy and didn't mind the waiting line! It's a bit weird and you can't use all the services, but I don't mind.
I still hasn't rained for 8 weeks or so. Not including the 3 days that it rained and it's getting a bit worrying. Will this be the next crisis? I don't want to panic, but it hasn't been so dry since the last 119 years and now it's 4 years in a row.
The rainwater we use for our rented vegetable garden went dry, so I have a bit of rain water at home I can use for it. But where my horse is stabled, the pastures are just brown and yellow and that so early in the year.
I haven't been on GR for a couple of days due to a big reading slump (getting out of it now), a bit of a mental dip (my husband called it a ' start of a depression', but I won't to see it like that) and some family issues. I find it hard that I have no friends to talk about it, but a while ago (2 years) I posted that my younger sister had lung cancer. She got threated and she was in remission. The cancer shrinked, but it couldn't dissapear. Since a couple of weeks, she started to get head aches, was a bit dizzy....and she got a scan of her head. The result is that she has a tumor in her head, due to the lung cancer. She's now having radiations instead of chemo and lost her hair in 2 days. The doctor gave her 4 months, a year if she's lucky. I'm going to visit her at her home (with mask and alcogel) and I hope I can keep myself together. We've got a very difficult relation and I don't know how to feel about all of this.
Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to share this with someone.

And as my own Youtube therapy recommendation, whenever I get tired of rewatching old Whose Line clips, I love Bernadette Banner for her calming, well-spoken videos on historical sewing. The filmography, lighting, soothing background music, and her crisp enunciation and dry understated humor are ASMR for my soul. I don't sew at all, but love her videos all the same.
