I wonder if that was an intentional choice on the Goodreads' staff part... I think it looks like someone peed all over the page tbh.

I can't stand it. I thought it must be some sort of glitch the color is so bad, but guess I'm wrong? Perhaps it is customizable at the group level?

I've looked over the group settings (in the group I'm a Mod at) and couldn't find anything to change it...

Yeah, me too. Too much of a signal color...

EDIT Also looks like the site is broken again, I had trouble adding books....

I've been getting this a lot, but not every time. Usually a refresh will let it go through.

I know... it's just annoying when you're trying to do a discussion post with a bunch of book links, and every other book requires 3-4 retries to load... then the book isn't on page 1 and breaks again, trying to go to page 2-5...

😂 😂 😂 I'm really curious what's going on in their heads!

Hahaha, right? Clearly they don't understand.

Yeah, seriously.
Those boxes are hideous and totally not necessary.

It's probably not as garish in groups that only do 0-1 books per month... but when you do 20-40 like we do, it's a bit much...

Aaaah, so much better! The idea was cool (if a little unnecessary) but the color... I don't understand why they didn't make it pastel like the rest of the website :p

Maybe they like the attention? No matter if it's good or bad? I'm sure they git a lot of comments and messages after that update...

If they wanted Feedback, they shouldn't have shutdown the Feedback Group last year...
I don't think they liked how negative everyone was, with all the mobile-centric changes they keep making to GR... hiding features, making thing LESS useful, etc...

What is that they say: don't ask the people what they want, because the danger is they might tell you?

The feedback group felt more like the damage control group, anyway...
Basically every feedback thread was just a place for people to vent and experiment with scripts that reverted changes, and the occasional visit from the mods/devs, to say "we hear you, but some nebulous group of people say they love it, and we're keeping it"...
The only real change I saw in my time in the group, was reactivating infinite scroll on the series page, when they changed it to add summaries and bigger book covers, etc...

I hate it too. So annoying

I stopped using the app altogether, now I use the desktop version on my phone

I managed to close the door grate on the cardboard baler at work on my middle finger today, so I guess I won't be typing much... half my middle fingernail has blood underneath is now... not broken, just hurts... talked to phone-nurse hotline and filled out incident report...

Here's an example baler... my hand was on top of the hinged greenish part on the left when I closed the yellow grate down... there's actually only 2 small spots where I could have hurt my hand the way I did... super unlucky... in this second image, it's basically them 2 small bits sticking up above the rest on the hinged part:

Ouch!! Glad it's not broken.

You can test out the Speech to Text and make it do your command! =)

I feel like Speech to text works best when the app/program has expected results... my workplace has a helper app like that now, called Ask Sam (Sam Walton, deceased founder)... and you can see the app deciphering what you say sometimes and changing to the most likely intended words... I mostly use it to view category layouts and when a customer asks about on-hands and locations of things I don't know...

THE CHRONOLOGY SPOILER
(view spoiler)
Sorry...this one I find I CAN joke about...but i hope it's one of those that (in a few hours) looks alot worse than it actually feels.
However now that I find the Mother's Meet is in session and everyone were assembled...
*PTA voice*
I have a question for the Ask Sam App that will prolly have it inserting like crazy:
Don't they issue gloves to deal with all these jungle of cardboard....you don't mean to say The Minions are messing around with box cutters, zombie scooters, forklifts and the like 😳 barehanded??
Or did none of evarr really realise how dangerous Sam's Club really is?
😂😂😂
Hoopla Users: Does Hoopla buckle under the strain on the first of the month?... this might be the first time I've tried to use the app on the first of the month, and nothing is working, except seeing books I already have checked out... not having much success using the website either...
Then I started wondering if it's all the people trying to access their new monthly borrows, at once, and on a Saturday no less?
Otherwise, my app is bugged, and I sent a message to support trying to find out what to do...

I used to have hoopla issues a couple years ago but they improved it a lot. Hopefully it’s just your shite luck with audiobook platforms 😂
I’m feeling really happy today, I weighed myself and have lost 40 lbs, halfway to my goal weight!! That is heavier than my daughter and to think I’m just not carrying that burden on my bones anymore is so exciting
