So bought a paperwhite for my wife's birthday on Thursday. Do I A) give it to her new, let her set it up, put it on the network, etc, and then has to go add books.
Or
B) set it up, add a few books on her definite to read list, (not too many..as that'd just be overwhelming!), and have it ready to go..but..no longer new and untouched.
I vote ready to go, but packed back in the package with the illusion of it being new and untouched lol. Great gift btw.

Thanks :) This was my inclination as well.

So set it up for her and definitely the way to go - just make sure and I failed to do this that if you're on a family plan with Amazon, that you remove all your books from sharing first or they'll show up on the new kindle and impact suggested reading and wishlist stuff. I had to go onto Amazon and unshare books I knew she wouldn't read :) Wasn't hard, but still, a pain and her recommendations are a bit out of whack. (She's never read Brandon Sanderson despite how many times I've suggested she should!)

The update is greyed out when I started the first time. Maybe I should reboot it.

Hmmm... Maybe you should remove all the books you already added and add only Brandon Sanderson books. That way, she has to start one of these if she immediately want to use her wonderful, new and shinny paperwhite 😂

Hmmm... Maybe yo..."
muhaha!
Lol, Rob that’s above and beyond what I would’ve done with that, so nice job. Thanks for the suggestion on the sharing feature - I’m relatively new to kindle and I didn’t realize it did that.

To brighten the mood here's Al Murray on nations

For my dear Americans and Canadians please go to 21:00

Same, same! ❤️
I mainly believe "live and let live".
And that Christmas is awesome :D
Merry Christmas... making my yearly trek to visit friends & their family for the day, be around sporadically...

I had chicken marinated in spices
Lasagne (delicious)
Lovely stuffing
Roast veggies
Yorkshire puddings (2 to be exact).
And some mash
Yeah I’m probably going out tommorow and do a few laps

Same, and my family is Jewish to boot. But now that I have kids we still do Santa and a tree and gifts. I didn't care about Christmas until I had kids. Now I want them to have happy, innocent childhoods before they realize the real world sucks 😂 😂

Deception (2010)- https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1278330/
One of the funniest films ever because of how bad it is if anyone has seen Birdemic then it’s on that level just watch the trailer please
Leon must die (2018) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6427156/
Very cute film with some issues (could rant about this but I’ll leave it for you guys to watch)
Love and teleportation (2013) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2306633/
Sweet story but very frustrating to watch
If you have amazon prime please watch these because there different and you might get a few laughs (at least from the first 2)

Think of the room but much worse
If you can't then there are some good reviews out there to watch

I haven't seen Birdemic, but I used to listen to the How Did This Get Made? podcast with Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael, & Jason Mantzoukas... they did a live episode about Birdemic, with cast members present, I think:

I'm dying... OK, not really... but this post-Christmas cold/flu is kicking my butt... for 2 days, Dayquil / Nyquil & cough drops + water/tea were enough, but now I have that borderline clearable cough that tears your throat up & my voice is cutting out... trying to "cough gently" so clear without hurting... hopefully it clears up soon... I pulled out the Big Guns this morning... Chest Rub (more of a Chest / Neck / Upper Lip dab in my case)... it's helping me cough already :)

Feel better soon!

Laura and me still need a little help to set up our special Bingo challenge. We finally want to tackle our TBR and read books that sit on out shelfs for far to long. And you can choose which books we're going to read 2019 :)
Please visit our Bingo threads and pick a book from our Shelf:

Thank you! :)

I watched half of peter pan before it got pulled for copyright infringement. It's awesome.
@Random stuff
Got myself a new 2.1 sound system (cause noone else gives me new year gifts, lol). Very happy with the sound, but the store where I bought it messed up - they told me it had arrived, but when I came to the store, they said it hadn't arrived, so I had to wait a few days more. Probably cause of the holidays (in Russia there's new year instead of christmas, so it's chaos everywhere until the 31st).
We tested the speakers with my friend who knows more about sound quality. Tried to install a pci sound card to see if it was better than my onboard sound. But the PC doesn't see the card. Worked last time I used it. It's an audigy 2 ZS, for those who care.

I tried to say that in my head in a stereotypical Russian accent and it sounds very creepy so it's definitely you.

Look forward to see what this year has to offer :) :) :)

I had 236 listed in early 2018.
I read 51 from it.
I now have 249, 248 now that I started one.
Reading from it only makes it larger. its like the Incredible Hulk.

Happy New Year everyone! :D
