Haha, maybe. I'm still searching for people in real life who like the same books I do.
When they mentioned they like fantasy I was like 'yay, maybe I can recommend Malazan'. I didn't, after the ToG discussion^^

Also, this reminds me I still want to read Clockwork Orange.

It's fun to imagine how far they'd manage to read Malazan before throwing it down and giving you weird looks, tho :)

I don't think we've got a similar phrase in France...

I even read the first 3 book, because I've got the audiobooks for free :D I read the first with friends and it was ok... I guess all the discussion made me like it a little more. I still agree with what Jenna and Iain said. And for me the series became even worse.
There's not much worldbuilding, not much action either and a lot of angst and love drama... I actually don't mind a story with low action, if the characters are great... But for me they weren't, they are all very similar and of course they are all so damn beautiful and sexy and strong and again oh so sexy... Urgh!

I work through the time changes... we have to be careful about when we take our lunches, because the time changing causes problems with the time clock...

It's all Bush's fault... he changed the DST dates 10-15 years ago... we still have 2 more weeks until the clocks change...

Virginie | 6109 comments I once did a cruise on the Baltic Sea the week-end of the time change. So I visited 3 cities in 3 days, each in a different timezone. My friends and I were warned that the boat would depart on time, with or without us. But it was local time. Which changed every day. It was so confusing...

We almost ended up stranded in St. Petersburg because of that xD

I'm with you. We are no longer a nation of farmers who need to be out in the fields sun up to sun down. In modern times there's no reason for it. Even farmers have modern machinery which make harvesting easier and faster.

Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2429 comments Frankly I've never really bothered to look into DST (I didn't even know that it was called that until now) or why it happens hell I don't even notice it happen

Maybe it's my absolute hatred for maths and time or I'm just proudly ignorant of the fact (the American way) so I'm indifferent about this

I love living in a country with no daylight savings time after having so many instances of being really late or really early after forgetting to switch the clock back home. The only thing is it's very difficult to get up in the morning.

I was looking for a new avatar image, and struck on the idea of a Gingerbread Assassin, kind of holiday themed and hoodie themed... not much available for that idea tho...

I DID stumble onto this terribad horror movie / cover tho:

I finally watched Tucker and Dale vs Evil yesterday... I've been meaning to for years, then it popped up on Netflix and I couldn't miss the opportunity...

I didn't realize it was horror comedy... which is actually about the only horror I watch (loved Cabin in the Woods)... I've seen some gif clips in the past, and really like Alan Tudyk's work...

I thought of looking for Gingerbread spies and Gingerbread undercover, since assassin was a fail... Google assumed I was looking for Gingerbread underwear... I couldn't resist checking it out... the results were a bit scarring, lol... seems to be a mostly male fashion choice...

Finally settles on a more generic Santa Assassin... almost anything with Assassin in the name tends to turn up Assassin's Creed fanart... didn't want to choose anything too copyright-y... main reason I didn't use that DVD cover... I kinda liked this other image I saw, as well:

Sometimes I'm too lazy for my own good... I woke up at 6:30pm, which is quite early for me, and pulled up my voting location online... there's one at the church basically across the street from my apartment... within eyesight, and I almost missed the voting deadline... this is on top of available early voting locations for the last 6 weeks... that's what I did last time, at the municipal building...

At least I should stop getting inundated with political ad postcards for awhile, now...

We got a political postcard from a Republican Pac that endorsed the green candidate as an attempt to sway votes from the Democrat. You had to look really closely to see who sent the thing. Interesting to be in a tight congressional race for a change.

Diana Stormblessed (dashichka) | 5357 comments I voted at 6:30am, before work. Good thing I didn't wait until after work as on my way home someone rear ended my brand new car on the highway and then just took off. I would have missed the polls if I had waited.
