Also if you want to see my vlog and hear me actually speak here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjPVh...I actually got 1 subscriber for it but I like it however I apologise for looking like a scruff I will be more mindful in my appearance
Also add Pot noodle to the list Margaret I know it's unhealthy but can't help myself sometimes
@Bea do you have any interesting day dreams you wouldn’..."Hm, at the moment I daydream a lot about how to furnish an appartement/house (I've been helping my cousin move to a new place this week and get all the furniture, that's probably why). I make a detailed plan in my head how the perfect room layout would be, exactly how long each wall is, where I would put which piece of furniture etc. I've been 'designing' different appartements over the last few weeks.
Also I like to think about stuff like "what if I could teleport myself, how would it be possible to teleport myself to university/work without anybody noticing" or "what if a timetraveller would show up at our house needing help, how would I help him stay unnoticed etc."
I like to invent characters and little stories and sometimes even alternative worlds but unfortunately I have zero motivation to write things down (so I admire all authors managing that 😅)
To be honest I have that when I write my scripts as I say dream what happens in my scenes and I’m hoping I can use that if I get to direct some of my projects and videos. So it’s good our able to envision how you want the rooms to look It’s actually funny because sometimes for characters I use people I’m familiar with I even envision some of you guys for characters in my scripts 😂😂😂

I'm a day dreamer, and a very vivid night dreamer. I sometimes just zone off into my own thoughts. It happens less as I've gotten older but it was a constant thing when I was a kid.

Hah, you're too hard on yourself...since you're prolly the last person who would be boring/attention-seeking/self-centered. We all are interested, please share.
It is great to have you back! Congrats on the new machine too and all the best for your creative projects.
Anni and Ahdam are right...we all admire you very much + hugs.
Please chk PM. I replied on my own tracker too....😂
And also here...this is SO you!

@MargretDunno if it's rude to ask, but do you yourself have a mental illness or did you mean your patients? Asking cuz I myself have depression (as I've stated several times I think). It's not easy being the only mental one here. And a russian mental one, too, lol.
PS. Did I mention that I recently sent a book to a client in norway? That's one expensive way to obtain books, I tell ya.
A good 1/3 of my patients on any given day are intentional overdoses so yes them
And me. I have anxiety and PTSD. I’ve been severely depressed before though, I remember what that is like. Don’t think you’re the only person here with mental illness though. There’s a funny saying the psych nurses always say and that’s the only difference between the staff and the patients is that the staff have to bring their own lunch 😂
Just the simple fact that you’re aware of your issues makes you miles ahead of those who aren’t awakened to their own problems.

@Zaara I replied to your PM before I even saw this!
I have many facets to how I approach things but most of all meditation and journaling using cognitive behavioral therapy(writing down the thought, asking myself if it’s true and/or helpful, changing that thought to a true one). Basically, practicing Mindfulness has taken over my life in a good way!
My sister (Zara, your twin) who is a counselor, is trying to convince me to try EMDR therapy, which sounds kinda kooky when you look it up but she’s actually going to be a certified EMDR professional by the end of the month so I’m inclined to trust her judgement 😂. Which I might if things go downhill again. But I’m managing very well!

Wow that’s amazing Margaret I’m glad your getting help with your depression and it is a huge step to take from admitting it to getting help with it. Although I am intrigued with the PTSD but I won’t pry about it although I feel you might have told us about it I might be wrong For the last few weeks I’ve been thinking a lot about mental illness and I live in an Asian community and I’ve heard a few stuff about breakdowns/anxiety and other mental issues and it really amazes me how big it is here and it’s sad you know and I know a few people that have gone through some of this and it is disheartening to see them go through this and you can’t really do anything to help.
I don’t want to obscure anything you said when I say this and if I do I apologise if I do but I myself struggled with low self esteem and I was loner when I was younger I was also told I had dyspraxia which essentially meant I found stuff a lot harder than the other kids in my school I had difficulty tying shoe laces, knots etc so I felt I was different to the other kids personality wise and skill wise which encouraged my lone wolf thinking and it was hard and I still struggle with this sometimes since secondary school wasn’t a fond experience with many regrets and I was itching for a new start and as I got older I really didn’t like the label of dyspraxia mainly because I didn’t want to use it as an excuse so I put it out of my mind but I think this kind of contributed to my self esteem but recently I like to think I’m improving now that I’m at uni.
Although I think joining this group gave me something I didn’t have which is a social life and at first I wasn’t so sure and now I thinking joining this group is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me as well as my university course so you can take credit for getting me out of my shell then Margaret
Well that’s it I guess
@AhdamI'm always envious of ppl like you, who manage to fit into an online community and enjoy it. I've tried it multiple times (yes, including FBR), but none of the communities were a good enough fit for me.
FBR is prob one of the better ones I've gotten into, buuutt... ugh... I can't really explain what is wrong, just me being me and other ppl being other ppl. Nobody's fault.
A conclusion I've come to is that readers are generally more understanding and tolerant, mb bc different books make you so (I've read somewhere that this is so). But the community itself is way more psychologically diverse than other subcultures, so it's harder to meet someone like you.
Does this even make sense?
I think I get it don’t get me wrong there are some online communities I find difficult to get into such as the gaming since my interests lie elsewhere and I can’t stand the picky ness and the toxic environment that surrounds it l. There is no way I’ll be at home with reddit due to the cynicism especially since I usually delve in the unpopular opinions and cmv threads which are a bit crazy.I think you have a point maybe books are more easier for people to fit in because of diversity of thought and to be honest I haven’t been reading for a few months so I’ve been talking to people like Margaret, Siobhan, Anni Shaitarn, you, Iain more as mates rather than people I read books with so I guess to me it’s more than just books (honestly this is like answering a mathematical problem)
Even so I would very much like to work with my friends I have now and I rather not rely on communities too much but even then I don’t fit in too other communities as well
I’m not sure if I made sense here either 😂😂😂
Like anything in life, online communities can be hit and miss. I first became active with online communities years ago when the tv show LOST first came on. I went searching for stuff online to explain what I was watching and stumbled across The Fuselage (a forum for discussing the show) and then that led me to Fishbiscuitland (a forum specific for fans of the Kate/Sawyer pairing). The latter soon became my online home. The members were mostly intelligent, snarky women though we had some cool male members too. Though the final season of LOST ended up being a disappointment, I'll always have great memories of the forum.I swore off shipping at that point because shipper wars can get nutso buuuuut then True Blood happened and I found the Sookieverse forum, which is actually where I "met" our lovely Mod, Angela. :-) That was another collection of smart, snarky women who made reading the books and watching the show fun, though I personally gave up on the show somewhere in early S5, I think. I'm still Facebook friends with several of them.
I also used to be pretty active on TWoP (Television Without Pity) back in the day but that forum was closed several years ago. With the advent of streaming services, the way people watch tv has changed and the days when we were all watching the same episode at the same time are gone. I kind of miss those days.
And now I'm here and my experiences at GR have, so far, been nothing but positive.
@idiffer that absolutely makes sense. I understand what you mean about not fitting into other places as well. I think you fit in well here as you don’t seem to be putting on a show or anything and have lots of interesting chats with folks. I’m very glad that your sobriety no matter how tortuous a journey has brought you to our little community where I feel as though we are pretty damned positive but not unrealistic
@Ahdam I’m very glad you’ve found your place here. Wouldn’t it be lovely if every facet of life was met with the same accepting, and understanding people? I hope your experience here gives you confidence and uplifts you in other areas of your life

I sense you FEEL yourself as more alone than you actually are, Andy. We are all here and I, for one, agree with Margret and think you totally fit.
When you are on more book threads we will talk to you exponentially MORE, that's all! It is very cool that you're hosting a BR in November. I remember and promise to stop by.

You are very good at sparking conversations and debates and leading them in ways. Unexpected ways.
This I notice. This should be a valuable social skill, even online. See how we are all here to talk to you...this is not an easy question to reply to, no?

You seem real and unvarnished and...I don't know how to complete this sentence...so I'll stop here.

Tell me more, if you wish. Either here or on on PM. Oh I don't think anything is wack. Bcuz, you're right...I am kinda like the Other Zara...I don't know what EMDR is, Marge but I dabble in alternate healing modalities and herbs and all the things.
Always have.
Meditation and the world's ancient wisdom traditions have survived for thousands of years...there must be something in them, no?
To live on quietly in this world of immediate gratification and the jaded consumptions of mindless newness. This world which discards things and heart and tech and ways so heartlessly?
And then laughs at them for being naive and archaic and then frankly obsolete...when those were actually the things they build themselves ON and around.
Then the shiny newness and the serialised consumption of the next immediacy begins to feel hollow and empty. Then we begin to wonder why.
Why?
Because our hearts are ancient timeless things. They beat to an age-old rhythm. Always have, always will. Yours and mine.
And thus...the old things endure...so who are we to judge what's kook and what's wack when we ourselves are gone in what seventy odd years?
Nope.
I do not scoff. But then 😂 I was born a thousand years old.
@Margret@Zaara
Thanks, gals. Can I say "gals"? I really want to. Just this once.
It's interesting how your views of me are so different from mine. I can say that I've had interesting convos with Zaara, but they mostly happened on non-FBR territory. I actually think that most convos here go by without me being able to contribute (notice my inactivity semi-recently). Even my BRs are mostly "This is shit. DNF. Bye."
I'll say one thing, though - it's a miracle that I wasn't colored a sexist or smth here right off the bat, cause that happened in a discord server once. Ppl here understand... things. I've said this before somewhere. Compared to the rest of the internet FBR is like an oasis in a desert.
@Z
Oh, yeah, give me a debate anytime!
Blurb:He sets off to find her and soon realizes that he and his traveling companions, including the feisty young archer Breo-Saight, have become involved in something much larger and more sinister than he had imagined. (c)
Just teeeelllll me, ok? This does not make me want to read the book.
@idiffer, remember the moose convo though? That was a good day 😂 I think of you as one of my friends here. @Ahdam, I think of you as a friend too. Glad to have you as a mate, mate :)
Also everyone else, I got big love for you all. This is a great community of people, so open minded and generally kind. I'm so glad I joined you all! ❤️
@Siobhan Yay I have a Geordie mate 😂😂😂 and I hope I have a German mate to??? 😂😂😂😂@idiffer yeah I gotta agree you do have some good stuff and I enjoy talking to you and I’m very interested when you said people call you sexist and it might seem a bit of overreacting on there part but to me as long as your not being a dick then I think your ok. I’m saying because I’ve seen quite a few people saying they were called racist or sexist but looking into it I love seen them just say stupid or insensitive stuff for the sake of being edgy and it really annoys me. I’m not saying your this you are blunt at times and I do appreciate that but your far from a dick and we all enjoy talking to you so I don’t know what you said that got out kicked off a discord server but....I don’t know where I was going with that but yeah your a good mate mate 👍🏽👍🏽😂😂
@AhdamYou should check out some of my reviews)) I can be a dick in those. I also joke about SJW stuff there, some may consider the jokes "insensitive". To put it in Margret's terms, I'm "putting on a show" there somewhat. It's all exaggerated to an extent. Maybe I was trying to be edgy too, dunno. Seemed more of an outcry of the soul against all the bullshit in the minds of many ppl.
You know I delved into the sjw bonanza and it was a dark time for me since I had a time which I will call the dark ages because I was fairly new to politics and I was into that whole look at these idiots until I realised “I became what I hate” Generic Movie Quote #411
Honestly it was good I stopped myself before I did something horrible and seeing a lot of people in that band camp go further down the rabbit hole was really disturbing.
I might need to read your reviews to see you your dick van dyke side but yeah I’ve had enough if edgy humour since it pretty much shock humour now sooo yeah 😂😂😂
If this was a few years ago I would have given a snarky definition but not anymore hopefully Pretty much it stands for social justice warriors and it’s essentially a name to describe a group of people mainly those who lean left in politics that essentially fight injustice in society so it is what it says
Now when looking at it you would think why that’s not so bad but unfortunately the label has been attributed to a specific sect of people mainly those who are incredibly radical and do not make up the entire left of the political spectrum
Nowadays the term is used as an insult and is mainly used as a joke from other people to describe the crazy and stupid liberal activist who is incredibly sensitive and take offence to everything. I’m not sure if I explained it right or if this made any sense but it’s a thing that happens in the internet which does leak into normal life.
I used to be those people who look at SJW even when there ideals where okay and just ridiculed them for being left even if it wasn’t true. And then I watched a few youtube channels which to me were sticking it to the man and speaking out against idiots like the SJW and most of this were just insults and those harmless insults were becoming sexist racist and after a year I realised that these people are idiots so I stayed away from these guys and distances myself from that band wagon before I did something I regretted
It sure if I explained it well but it’s a shit show and I nearly lost myself going down that rabbit hole if you knew what was going in my mind at the time you would be horrified
@siobhan yeah most of it is means but the deeper you go it becomes what I call a circlejerk trust me there are some horrible people in these areas
Ahdam wrote: "@Siobhan Yay I have a Geordie mate 😂😂😂 and I hope I have a German mate to??? 😂😂😂😂"Sure! You should know by now ;)
You explained it well, Ahdam.Accurate depiction of SJW:
Hate racism.
Hate sexism.
Hate white men.
...
That shit does my head in.
And ah yes, the circlejerk. The reason I no longer use reddit!

EMDR is complicated to explain but its a neural reprocessing technique involving traumatic events and being exposed to rapid bilateral ocular stimulation (fast blinking light i believe) It's more than that but this page explains it all

Any time politics or religion comes up, there's risk of it devolving into a toxic/charged situation quickly...
I can think of a number of other terms thrown around these days, as well...

So I came across a book cover that I wanted to share. It's just so anime, man.Hellhound Awakened
There are several editions, hope it linked to the right one. The one with the sword and the wings and... the SKIRT!!!
Oh wow I feel like I’m seeing 2 different things The title font is very anime/manga but the cover art makes me think an emo probably designed that and I’ve seen weird videos made by emos and I feel very strongly that is the case 😂😂😂
Low budget photoshop right there... typical stock photo book cover, with less realistic demon wings tacked on...
I was hoping some of you guys could indulge me with an idea and I need some thoughts on the world building since I’m quite fond of this idea and some questions might help me resolve some issues with it Pretty much it is the year 3000 and government and science finally see eye to eye and have recreated the earth and have resolved most issues with climate change and war for the first time it seems humanity has created the perfect utopia...or so you think
To combat the rising level of crime the government had decided to create a second planet earth but has retained the infrastructure/ technology from the 21st century and for 500 years the government have placed criminals and terrorists of any crime on this planet and have erased there memories and twist a story that an infection that killed millions of people everyone was put into cryonic sleep but due to the malfunction of the technology many people were lost underground and more people are still being found although right I think the number is slowly decreasing as time goes on. While the first world is perfect this one is the entire opposite as the place is run by corrupt officials and serial killers/rapists are on top of the food chain. Anarchy, unemployment is rife here with no hope this is a true dystopia.
I’ve thought about a few things about these 2 worlds
Government: the first world is controlled by a group who manage a specific area worldwide. One of the people in that group is in charge of the second earth and he has created his own small government in the dystopian world and has made an authoritarian like regime in that world still a few specific to work out here.
Pretty much if anyone remembers my scientocracy idea I’ve decided to scrap it because o didn’t know where to go with that and replace it with this since I know what to do with it and it was my original idea. Story has the same idea 2 people from different world meet due to unexpected circumstances and as they learn more about each other’s worlds they find themselves in a coup which could endager the lives of both worlds inhabitants
I’m still working on it but any thoughts and questions please send them my way I quote like this idea

As for the short that is an excellent idea and while it was a small joke I might keep that in mind when I build up a bit because I have a really good idea for a web series relating to film and books so maybe.
You know I love that idea although maybe make books a bit bigger than film and that would be a nice gift as well hahahaha sorry ego is riding in but yeah I’ll stop
Also thank my mate Keane (he ain’t on here) he’s more serious in photography than me I linked him on my instagram if you want to see more he shares the same passion as me and wants to be a director/cinematographer and he’s doing a lot so yeah I’ve rambled enough probably the blushing talking you know what I’ll shut up now
