I love creative writing. I'm interested in getting more involved with script writing.

Oooh someone wanting to speak my language so have you written stories of any kind? also what medium are you interested in film, tv, books, video games

Sorry if I'm a bit forward but I do get a bit giddy when I talk about films and scriptwriting so I just want to know more about your creative writing interest if that's okay

I've written some short stories and am written a novel. I have wrote a script before. I'm not really sure about my medium yet. I'm hoping to eventually get a script performed or filmed.

message 2905: by Ahdam (new)

Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2429 comments I'm mainly into making a film and I hope to make a few of my scripts with my friends if I can get them on board

I would love to read your script and give you feedback on it if you want but that's up to you of course and if you want to have a rea of my scripts you are free to do so :) :)

Could a lightsaber cut through Captain America's shield?

message 2907: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 1578 comments Oh boy, that could open up a lot of debates. It's like the lightsaber vs Shardblade question.

Yeah, there's a good debate going in the group I shared this to on FB.
General opinion so far is no, but it has sparked good discussion as to why.

Not sure if I should put this in random chatter, or venting, but I'm starting to think making an account on my medical insurance website was a mistake... because now I can check the claims center and see the cost of medical visits BEFORE all the insurance discounts are processed... one went from $1600 to $350... but I've still got a couple unprocessed, since my 1hr visit was broken into 3 parts plus the biopsy testing/results...

I've officially burned through all the HRA dispursements on my insurance, that I'd saved up over the past 6yrs, and have to start paying my own costs, once BlueCross BlueShield tells me the discounted rate... in the meantime I can stare at crazy prices and worry...

Yes. First off there aren't that many female characters in general. And the ones there are like the only ones in their parts of the story. Thinking back I can't think of any scene that has more than 1 female, that's not like a background ensemble cast member.

Iain, I saw an ER one on there before insurance and almost shit. $20000. I would've rather not known lol. At least you can plan though I guess. Processing always seems to take forever.

Sadly yes. Tolkien's female character department is seriously underdeveloped...I love his work, I really do, but the lack of female characters has always been an issue that has bothered me...
iirc Galadriel, Arwen and Eowyn are present in the end, but they don't have any sort of interaction.

I don't blame you. Usually when a company wants a resignation they the employee gets a severance package and any outstanding vacation time and commission.

I have to give the marketing team credit for this cover. I would normally have no interest in this book but its perfect. The woman on the cover is young but not too young, she looks and is posed sexy and at the same time sweet, she's thin but not a waif....and so on. I've been getting bombarded with the ad for this on nearly every GR page I go to and I'm not normally one to be distracted by it but the flashing between the cover image and an information image keeps grabbing my attention.

message 2916: by Zaara (new)

Zaara | 4273 comments Soooooo...in other random news....I am being haunted by this demon 😈 plastic bag.
It used to house my spare shoes but now disappears underneath chairs whenever I look for it....only to shoot out dramatically from beneath sofas...hours later to trip ppl up by being underfoot at just the wrong moment.
It has just made an appearance...chittering madly and moving from left to right on a phantom zephyr...and come to rest bobbing gently under the standard stereotypical ugly grey hotel room fridge. So of course now I will go and open the fridge and stare at all them overpiced camdies and sodas and nuts and stuff...
I am hungry. I knew I shoulda gone out but was all..."noooo I had a long day sightseeing, I'll just stay in and read the nice book...."
One of these days I will catch this evil pink w!tch...

That is really funny!

Happy 4th of July to all Americans.

message 2919: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments Today, I finally gave in and bought an eBook Reader. Till now I always resisted because I really like having books on my shelves at home and share them with my dad and just hold them in my hands while reading. But there're also a lot of advatages, for example eBooks are cheaper and more lighter (My Oathbringer copy is killing me right now... ).
And I got an used eReader for little money, so I don't feel that bad. Still, I can see my TBR explode now 😅

message 2920: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments Going good Abhay, hope yours is too!

They are definitely good for big books, Anni. I read all of ASOIAF on my kindle even though I own the books physically! I couldn't be bothered carrying them around with me!

I try not to buy too many ebooks, but get quite a few 99p deals on kindle! :)

I swore by eReaders before my move to audio... so much easier to carry around... and cheap deals, just like used bookstores, but you don't have to leave your home, and can get midnight pre-orders...

I made an impulse purchase today... I got an iPad... last year's model, so it's marked down a bit as stores are emptying their supply...

I got it as a pseudo-2nd monitor so I can so some browser searches while gaming and not have to tab out... AND I can take it with me out of town around the holidays... got one of those cases with the built in stand and bluetooth keyboard to make the most out of it... hopefully I'm happy with it... it was a lot cheaper than the more expensive current models and PRO version, that I tend to see at work in the $600-$800 range...

I would have probably just gotten a Kindle Fire for half the price, if the Discord app wasn't limited to Android and Apple devices...

And it has the same great iBooks app as my phone... now I can store 2x the audiobooks... or listen to 2 books at the same time >:D

message 2924: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments That's funny, my boyfriend bought an iPad yesterday as well :) I don't know which model, but it's not the actual one. Maybe I steal it from time to time.

And please, with regard to your sanity, don't listen to two audiobooks at the same time 😂😂

message 2926: by Anni (new)

The word "actual" confused me... I thought he bought a knock-off... or just any of the myriad generic brands available... RCA, Lenovo, Kindle, Samsung Galaxy S#, there are even kids branded ones these days for developmental learning...

message 2928: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments My fault... There's the german word 'aktuell' which means 'current', so I get confused, sorry.
