I just checked your horoscope and it says eventhough you have a rebelious spirit you also seek comfort in life. So I wish you a chill year for your new age.

Me today: thinking about Robin Hobb. Wishing I had nice, uniform copies (like the ones Petrik has) for my shelves to represent. Have hunted for hardcovers before but didn't want to risk spending $40+ for unguaranteed conditions. Happened to be on book depository... :D :D :D UK Editions available for ALL THE THINGS!!! Ordered them all. Worth it. ^_^

Who wants to tell my husband I bought more books? Anyone? Bueller?

message 2506: by Lena (new)

Lena Sell/donate a few and it will be like nothing ever happened.

Garh, Petrik's pic of his Realm of the Elderlings collection got me into buying the books as well (UK editions).
That guy is evil. Not only does he make my TBR grow at an alarming rate but now, I'm buying books I already own (in ebooks)...

I've gotten in the habit of buying physical books for any ebook I read and would love to reread. If I leave it on my kindle I'll forget it exists.

But these books are so terribly beautiful :) I'm working on my 'UK-Collection' as well. I got City of Dragons and Blood of Dragons as a present yesterday and now I 'only' have to buy the first 3 trilogies as UK copies. I only own the german translations so far... Speaking of them... The german cover for Fool's Errand is so damn stupid!

You might know the Cover:
The Dragonbone Chair (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #1) by Tad Williams
It's honestly not my favourite, but as I finally read the book, the cover make sense.

Yeah, and now look at this:
Der lohfarbene Mann ( Die zweiten Chroniken von Fitz dem Weitseher, #1) by Robin Hobb
What's that? The cover made no sense at all! There is no scene the picture matches and also no such characters... Why did the publisher did this? The covers of the whole series made no sense at all (Book 3 is splitted in two books)...

Der goldene Narr ( Die zweiten Chroniken von Fitz dem Weitseher, #2) by Robin Hobb Der Weiße Prophet ( Die zweiten Chroniken von Fitz dem Weitseher, #3) by Robin Hobb Der wahre Drache ( Die zweiten Chroniken von Fitz dem Weitseher, #4) by Robin Hobb

While reading I had a really hart time, trying to find out who's who at the cover... I guess these are stolen from other books as well 😂

message 2526: by [deleted user] (new)

There are a lot of stolen covers. In one of my other challenge groups we had to find matching covers

message 2527: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments I know that covers are used for more than one book quite regulary and if the cover suits the story it's fine. But I guess the scene pictured there is quite specific and I'm wondering why they haven't used a picture that would suit the book a little better 😅

Slytherpuff wrote: "There are a lot of stolen covers. In one of my other challenge groups we had to find matching covers"

They're not STOLEN, per se... they just both make use of the same stock photos available for purchase... some duplicates are more obvious than others... depends if they just slapped some text on the image, or added other things to the image or zoomed in to cut something out...

I went outside today during the sun times... :)

Was at an intersection and somebody in the car nearby was listening to rap music...

Apparently the rapper was saying "Count em' up, Count em' up, Count em' up" over and over... for 10 seconds tho, I thought he was saying "CANADA, CANADA, CANADA!!!"

:D

It's a good video, and I agree that you shouldn't delete it.

What are you using as camera, the shakiness was slightly annoying yeah :)

message 2539: by Ahdam (new)

Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2429 comments I used a Panasonic Lumix camera (I showed a picture of it here somewhere)

That may be due to a few factors

-rushing through the place with the family
-not taking my time with shooting
-haven't used the camera in quite a while

Also there's the fact I literally thought of making the video when I was there so the more I use it the better I'll be

I missed this comment - sorry! It seems like I'm pulled every which way with "likes" but only a few passion (aside from books - the obvious). I love organizing.. anything from sock drawers to putting together a budget. It has recently manifested itself into a bullet journaling passion. I pour at least a couple of hours into it every day. Another is just a general "being creative" which usually means either cross stitching (it's a really organized pastime lol), colored pencil works, and writing. Writing about books and writing books, both of which I don't spend nearly enough time doing. I'm hoping to change that asap. I'm also trying to work up the nerve to start a booktube channel because I think it has the potential to join the list.
What about yours?
