Hurry, hurry

Are you getting your hair done by your daughters whilst singing that song? It'd seem fitting

message 203: by Quinn (new)

Quinn | 460 comments Teenager or Pween daughters?

message 204: by Scott , Karsa Orlong (new)

Daughters range from 4-14. The oldest two are 12 and 14.

Somebody made a pussycat reference and that stupid cartoon song got stuck in my brain so I put it here. Does chatter get more random? If only I would remember important things.

Someone send the Hazmat team to my house please I've had two sick barnacles for 3 weeks now with additional ear infections and now disgusting eye infection accompanied by tuberculosis level sweating/speaking in tongues/ twitching all last night by the older barnacle

message 215: by Scott , Karsa Orlong (new)

Scott Hitchcock (lostinthewarrenofchaos) | 8083 comments Mod
I feel for you Margret. My house had the throw up bug last weekend. I didn't fall until Tuesday but it totally sucked.

Love the use of barnacle. When I play with the younger ones in the pool I do a pirate voice and call them barnacles as they try to hold on while I try to escape. Always gets them laughing.

I had forgotten how much it sucks with the babies though. I had to sleep upright with Jolene for 3 days in the recliner because she wouldn't lay flat with the ear infection.. it was like I had a human neck scarf

You have my complete empathy. I slept on the couch one night last weekend having to catch the 4.5 year old's puke in a bucket while my wife did the same with the 6.5 year old in our bed. I made it the entire night without her missing the bowl until the 12 year old starting puking in the upstairs bathroom. I went to help her and by the time I had returned the 4.5 year old had ruined my night of vigilance and I was forced to start cleaning.

My grandfather almost cut his thumb off with a chainsaw when I was 12-ish. Helped him no problem. People puke or step in dog shit however and I start dry heaving. The smell of spoiled milk might be the worst of all. So I was not a happy camper.

Again though I'll take my one night vs your three.

Yes it totally depends on how strong it is too.. I mean I won't say I've seen it all because I've said that and then something new surprises me lol. But I mean I'd rather do major trauma stuff (minus bones going the wrong way makes me go to my happy place) at work than the crazy gross vomits. What really takes the cake is the "laying in the same spot for 3 days" type smells.. so excited to go back to work now lol

OMG. You should have them watch the Josie and the Pussycats movie from the early 2000's. It's hilarious. The music is entertaining and it pokes fun at consumer culture in general, specifically boy bands. I actually have the CD still. haha. I loved it when I was 14. holy crap. The movies is THAT old?

Andria (lyonaria) | 22 comments Has anyone read The Iron Ring?

It was one of my favourite books when I was 12. It definitely holds up as an adult. It's a light easy read that's really entertaining and holds true to the spirit of the myths. I read it at the same time I was reading was reading the Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and Sabriel. This was my introduction into Indian mythology.

It's a fun one, such an engaging read. It got me interested in world mythology. Ha, it was actually new when I read it back in '97. I also read Time Cat and Gypsy Rizka of his.

He wrote the Black Cauldron series that the disney movie 'is based on.' It's apparently nothing like the boos.

I got this feeling on the summer day when you were gone.
I crashed my car into the bridge. I watched, I let it burn.
I threw your shit into a bag and pushed it down the stairs.
I crashed my car into the bridge.

I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah

Speaking of which do you guys know what RickRollling is?

LOL no. You insert Rick Astley lyrics into conversations and if people don't pick up on it they've been RickRolled. A friend of mine wrote another this massive email and at the end told him to go back to start and take the first word from every sentence and write them down. He got as far as, Never Gonna Give You Up, and threw his head back in disgust which thankfully his wife got video of. Whenever they argue in a forum, mostly football, an animated GIF of the event magically gets posted.

I may have to try that, I do enjoy inserting song lyrics into random conversation

message 229: by Andria (new)

Andria (lyonaria) | 22 comments Rickrolling is hilarious. You can also insert the music video into an inrelated video and it's rickrolling as well! I've definitely seen my share of those.

Have you seen the one where a kid wrote a paper and the lyrics where the first word of every line? Now that took some serious effort as well. :)

I get song lyrics in my head ALL the time from just general conversation. I almost always have an earworm.

Lately it's been Kung Fu Fighting and I Feel Pretty. Though Backstreets Back made an appearance after I saw a reference to it on tumblr. haha

For weeks I had 'Call me maybe' stuck in my head. That was awhile ago though... and there it goes again...

Quinn wrote: "What is the connecting between Kung Fu fighting and I Feel Pretty LOL!! I just can't see it! "

Well, there isn't one between those. They just happen to be the one's that have been popping in my head when I hear the 'Everyone is...' Or anyone says any of the words in I feel pretty like enchanting, or entrancing, or running and dancing for joy! haha. It doesn't take much for me.

The powder comes in a bag in super concentrate now!

Also, the quality of ketchup chips continues to be on a steady decline. Old Dutch quality remains as box>bag format

Iced tea mix. Not regular tea!

Yes I haven't seen milk in a bag, but my husband said they used to get milk in bags all the time in BC

Yes, milk comes in bags - you can also get it cartons, but they are much more expensive.

You buy the bags in a larger bag of three and then you put the individual bags inside of a milk pitcher and cut a little hole in the corner of the bag. :)

message 246: by Hacen (new)

Hacen | 883 comments Sounds like something I'd make a mess of lol

message 247: by Andria (new)

Andria (lyonaria) | 22 comments They have milk in bags here in the UK too. Coffee shops like Costa and Starbucks tend to get their milk that way as its cheaper. I've never bought it, but my husband prefers one of the plastic carton only brands. :)

Hubby took me out for a date to the Garth Brooks concert last night.. then some random person came up to us and comped our tickets from section 232 (almost behind the stage) to Row 2 floor and center stage! Apparently he reserves the first 2 rows of his concerts and randomly gifts them to people from nosebleeds! It was absolutely unreal. I'm not normally into country music but last night was one of the coolest experiences of my life. And the girl right next to us got to get up on stage and sing with him and Trisha Yearwood
