@MargretHm, I liked your profile pic, didn't get bitch so much as "contemplating". It's subjective, i dunno.
I have the permanent sadface, I can't count the times when ppl asked "why are u sad?" and I'm like "Fuck, I'm just serious, I'm in my mindspace right now, I feel nothing for the world right now!!!"
Not gonna lie Margaret when I saw you profile pic there was only one word that came into my mind OVEREXPOSED
A friend once told me I looked unapproachable before we started talking but after I became a cotton candy. That pretty much explains my whole life. I have to reach others first to become friends. Tiring. Considering my horrible taste in finding nice people. Double tiring.
@Ahdam: I know you meant the lighting cause I thought the same thing, but for a second I thought you meant exposed flesh...

I tried to reach out to someone who looked like they needed some company, but ended up with a serious stalker problem and had to get a restraining order!

People Always think that I look sad or angry, but that's just my thinking face or 'resting bitch face' as Iain said :p Besides that I'm an introvert. And yes, I have to reach out as first too, but don't seem to find nice people. So I give up.

@Nerdeek, oh well Isorry about that, I hope it doesn't happen often. it's only happened seriously, once for me so that's fortunate. I wouldn't stop reaching out to people though! Sometimes there are people who really appreciate being reached out too.@Saar, Sometimes it really can! Don't give up though, I've met some of my closest friends from randomly messaging or approaching people

Yeah I’m not really good at reaching out to people despite my time on it I rarely talk to people privately on it mainly due to feeling awkward and shy about it and also due to the fear of looking like a creepy stalker or one of those people I guess

But I reach out to other people, who are shy like me. You should try it out too. Feels good.
@BesteWhat do you mean cotton candy?
Not to rain on your parade even harder, but you do come off as not that easy to approach, there's a certain detachedness to you. I cannot predict how you will respond to anything I say, for example.
Interactions with ppl are VERY tiring if you're not into it 100% or if you're not on the same wavelength as the other person. The only reason I put up with all the shit talking to ppl entails is that I'm interested in ppl, like deeply interested in aaaaallll their baggage, quirks, etc. When I was drinking, I talking with ppl was a hobby, but the amount of patience and effort I exerted... you could of called it work.
I recently cut off a good RL friend out of my life because she wasn't worth the effort, with all the blows to my ego she dealt on a regular basis, she was too high maintenance even for me, and that's saying something.
Some ppl here said that they tend to not find nice ppl. To that I say: it is possible that you have shit luck, but it is possible you're not looking deep enough. What I've come to understand is there is "nice" in all ppl, you just have to look hard for it and not brush ppl off the second they say smth u don't like. There is also the possibility you are parent-programmed to find shitty ppl. I think I may have rec'd Beste the book Games People Play (Eric Bern), as I do now to all who seem to attract trouble, negativity etc.
Well I'm not shy at all! So don't worry, if we ever have a FBR social I'll introduce everyone! LOL.
I did a test one time (for some University study) that called me an extroverted-introvert which felt really accurate. I have no issues with crowds, new people, or public speaking/performing, but that tires me out. After a large dose of people I need an equally large dose of alone time.

@Ahdam- I know, I know. And you know what? I don’t have a problem with critique either so you could’ve messaged me! Sometimes I need to remember to only get photos in natural light, indoor lighting+my complexion is not favorable :)

Well I don't say I'm ice cold and cotton candy at the same time. Theres no contradiction in this. I'm cold until I approach someone and start talking. I met my best best friend out clubbing when I complimented her heels :)
Anyways, the tiring part is not reaching out but doing it 100 times to find a true friend, and think you always search for it alone.
LEts not talk about how nice ppl are because as you say ppl might be nice deep down somewhere but they may not be in their day when we meet them. I don't judge them but we can't deny its tiring at some point.
@BesteNo-no, I wasn't saying there is a contradiction, I was literally asking what the phrase "cotton candy" means.
Ok, if u do not want to talk about niceness, we won't. Just ask yourself this (and you don't have to post the answer): if you had a bad day and were shitty to someone, would you want that person to write you off forever because of this one time?
@Yanique I am a pure introvert. I just can't bear ppl IRL but online I am cool. However none of my friends chat with me because of my introvert-y behavior IRL 😅
^me too. 85% introverted (Myers-Briggs) but can talk easily online because I can edit my comments 5+ times before posting
I'll have to take that test, cause NOW I don't know what I am, prolly an introverted situational extravert or smth. In high school I was introverted, but later in my drinking days became an extravert, then stopped talking to many ppl but retained interest and social skills.
Margret wrote: "^me too. 85% introverted (Myers-Briggs) but can talk easily online because I can edit my comments 5+ times before posting"Things are easy online because of that! Without editing my online life would be crappy!
There’s lots of free “unofficial” Myers-Briggs tests you can take. It’s scary accurate though, at least for me it was. Scott recommended I take one as he enjoys talking about the subject (or possibly wanted to point out how nuts I am)
1) I like talking online cause I can think before I write + RL convos go on tangents and dont return to the ooriginal topic, while online you have a ready history and can adress all points simultaneously. I had a phase where I would get ppl to do numbered convos with me, like this one.2) It's a good day
3) Life is hard.

Seriously, doesn't know my online life. XD
Margret wrote: "^me too. 85% introverted (Myers-Briggs) but can talk easily online because I can edit my comments 5+ times before posting"Just took an online test out of curiosity. 93% introverted....
EDIT: Ok, I read the details of the results. Apparently, I'm an "Architect" (INTJ-T, whatever that means oO). It's written I'm probably a "bookworm" lol
Ok, this test is crazy accurate, it scares me. I'm not sure if I'm happy with that though as one of my weaknesses is "clueless in romance". I knew it already :'("[...] Trying harder in the ways that Architects know best can only make things worse, and it’s unfortunately common for them to simply give up the search. Ironically, this is when they’re at their best, and most likely to attract a partner. "
Oh, ok. I should just give up. Good to know... 😑
I'm a vituoso. 78% introverted, which is not the number I would give myself. But virtuoso? ok, you know me better, test, thanks.
Dare to DifferWhile their mechanical tendencies can make them appear simple at a glance, Virtuosos are actually quite enigmatic. Friendly but very private, calm but suddenly spontaneous, extremely curious but unable to stay focused on formal studies, Virtuoso personalities can be a challenge to predict, even by their friends and loved ones. Virtuosos can seem very loyal and steady for a while, but they tend to build up a store of impulsive energy that explodes without warning, taking their interests in bold new directions. (c)
Oh test, I knew I picked the right nickname.
The test says I'm 72% extrovert and 'Entertainer (ESFP-A)'-Type 😅 I'm not sure the type is fitting... Entertainer sounds a bit too 'Spotlight' for me... I like to talk to people and don't care to make a fool out of myself, if someone doesn't like the way I am it's fine for me. Still I prefere being part of a group rather than be it's center.
'If anyone is to be found spontaneously breaking into song and dance, it is the Entertainer personality type. Entertainers get caught up in the excitement of the moment, and want everyone else to feel that way, too.'
But yeah, this part of the text might be true 😂
I'm The Mediator (INFP-T)Individual traits: Introverted – 93%
Intuitive – 59%
Feeling – 78%
Prospecting – 57%
Turbulent – 51%
I think it's pretty accurate. I'm pretty close to the middle on intuitive and observant, judging and prospecting, and assertive and turbulent. I feel like these personality traits have always pulled me in two different directions. I studied family counseling so the mediator makes perfect sense, but I'm also artistic and studied Interior design, and was equally interested in that; more so than family counseling now. Two very different things.
What site are y'all taking this test on?Someone care to share a link? Apo if that's already been done, and I somehow missed the post...
That said...I've really enjoyed this page of the thred....
:-)) while reading...
@Ab yes Ab...I figured the MBTI bit...😂😂Actually I wondered if ALL of them were literally "on the same page" bcuz of the way the blurbs and numbers...
And now that you replied I see how it was a stupid way to phrase my question...
But tks anyway..and aren't you gonna post your
I’ve done this before but I might do it again to see what it’s like again but right now I’ve got a few things to juggle with university wise since we need to sort some stuff out so that’s uni life for you

Yeah, a fellow "Architect"! :D I'm more introverted and the "turbulent" type though.
I read that women with Architect-type personality represent less than 0.8% of the female population. Seems like we're both a very special kind of snowflakes lol

In the 10th anniversary addition of NoTW, Kvothe is talking to his horse he needs to buy in order to ride to Trebon. Am I crazy in thinking he that he is giving a subtle shout out to Fitz from the Farseer Trilogy? The line reads:“You deserve a good name. I hate to see some lordling with delusions of wit saddle you with some terrible name like Midnight or Sooty or Scut.”
I mean he says delusions of WIT and SOOTY. Someone has to chime in on this. I am so excited hahaha.
