Thanks to my skilled dentist I have a new fake tooth now, she did a great job and it's nearly invisible that the tooth is made of porcelain. When I grow old and grey and loose all my teeth, I will still have this tooth to bite everyone I dislike squirrel-style :D
I love the Fast and the Furious movies... I try most car movies like that...

I quit mostly for money reasons... I quit most things when I feel they're costing me too much money...
I didn't have the social group to play cheaply, so I got most enjoyment from Friday Night Magic... Booster drafts for $10 on Fridays... the place I played would do a 2nd round from 11pm-2am for another $10 after the regular 7-10pm... and there was fast food across the street to tide you over... and new expansions every 3-4 months... with the Pre-Release and Release tournaments for $30... with the chance to booster draft afterwards... and that's without buying any cards just to try and get them all... or people that go to different stores on Pre-Release and Release weekends to catch stores doing tournaments on Saturday and different stores doing tournaments on Sunday...
Wizards of the Coast is basically a money-printing factory... that's why I quit... I also spent all the time I could be reading books on the website reading about development and all the other stuff they publish in their weekly articles...
I quit this competitive Bejeweled online game for similar reasons a year past summer... Gems of War... I dumped like $300 into that game in 4 months... I have a bit of an addictive personality with games sometimes... and the best solution is to just quit cold turkey... you stop obsessing after a few days/weeks and it passes...

If this wasn’t our campfire then Chris and I never would’ve figured out that him and my husband went to the same high school!

I didn't go to the dentist from about the age of 10 to 25... and had terrible dental hygiene... it costs $1000s and a nudge from my grandma to fix it all... but I've got 2 bridges (where they fill the gap of a pulled tooth by fusing 3 crowns together, crowning the existing teeth on either side of the gap), 2 more crowns, and a bunch of fillings and route canals making my mouth look halfway decent... when they fixed my front teeth they even filled in some of the gap between them... when they offered, I felt filling too much would look weird and oversized... before you could fit a nickel or more between them... now it's between a quarter and a dime's width gap...
I'm still not the biggest teeth showing smiler, but I'm less self-conscious about it all...

I love the Fast and Furious movies too. They're like movie crack. I hate knowing that there's dissension among some of the cast now. I don't know why people feel the need to make their squabbles public.
It's really been bubbling all year... I knew The Rock and Vin Diesel had issues before this year... but then it ended up on Tumblr, and Tyrese seemed to diffuse it all... now Tyrese and The Rock are having their own issues (I think over The Rock and Jason Statham getting a spin-off movie/franchise... which has been put on the backburner as a result)...
Social media is a blessing and a curse (mostly a curse in my opinion, but whatever)...
I only care about REAL feuds... when Ilona Andrews and Jeaniene Frost were throwing down over a book competition as a joke... and then Curran and Kate, and Nevada and Mad Rogan ended up competing for #1 & #2 so they threw some trash talk at one another on her blog...

I think I like Fast and the Furious for the same reason I liked 24... the utter ridiculousness of it all... dragging that police vault around Brazil... the parachuting cars... when they were jumping skyscrapers in Dubai... that bridge jump... I dunno how they'll outdo the submarine and missiles in #9...

It's delicious insanity.
*sigh* I miss Jack Bauer. I tried the new reboot they recently did but, no Jack, no go.

Yeah, I got hooked playing in high school and stopped in my 20s. But recently, with my geek wife, we started playing again when we found my cards. I don't know why I didn't get rid of them, but it's cool because now I get to play with the wife and my oldest son.
I quit playing when 4th or 5th edition came out.

I like the Fast & the Furious movies, but when it came out it was paired with Gone in 60 Seconds, which I'd enjoyed more at the time!

I mean... if you have a casual group or family members to play with, it's great... you can get 1000s of commons/uncommons for cheap quite easily... they're basically junk to resellers that open packs for the rares/mythics... it's when you want to play locally with strangers that it gets expensive quick...

Yeah we tried to start my son on the Pokémon card game and that's actually more expensive than Magic! I think the wife and I spent close to 500 bucks in just over a month just to get 2"alright" decks!

My favorite Nick Cage movie is Faceoff, and The Rock a close second, probably 60s third

I never played enough Pokemon to learn all the rules... but the whole evolution thing seems like it would want a lot of specific cards... Magic seems a lot more versatile... I mean, a booster draft builds 8 forty card decks (16 mana, 16 creatures, and 8 spells on average, if I remember correctly) for $80 using 24 booster packs (3 per person)... since the mana are used from a outside the packs, thats 24 x 8 = 184 cards used out of 14 x 24 = 336 cards (+24 lands)... How many pokemon cards did it take to make a deck?
Granted, regular Magic Decks are 60 cards, not 40... but that's the nature of Booster drafts...

Pokemon was 60 cards as well, but the nature of the game forced you to buy a lot of cards.

The reason Face/Off is one of my favorites is that while you're watching the movie you can really see the acting talents of Travolta and Cage as they manage to swap personalities. Then the writing was phenominal regarding the psychological repercussions of each man living in a completely different environment.

Anyway I got there and was in like for about 20 minutes taking in the sights of people bringing there books, I saw someone bring a huge stack of Sanderson books which were HARDCOVER, while waiting in line I was thinking "shit this is gonna take ages" and I was really nervous so I struck a convo with the person in front of me and we just talking about mistborn and other fantasy books, which is really refreshing to talk to someone in person about the books you love and just like that we were in front. I was trying to compose myself since I had a lot to say and planned what I would say but when I got to him it all went blank for a couple of seconds then I thanked him for getting me into reading books/epic fantasy and explained my experience with his books (see my broken HOA review) and he was very nice about it saying it was his pleasure and he dedicated oathbringer to me and signed the other and unfortunately I couldn't spend much time with him cause the line was HUGE and I didn't want to take up people's time but I'm soooo happy to have met him as well as had a small talk.
Enough rambling here's me with him trying to stay calm as he signs my books ignore the state of my hair it's been a bit chilly up here and I was wearing a hat.

Here are my books he signed.

Cheers Abhay maybe you will in the future
Also I asked him about the mystery project he said its called Skyward and its a non Cosmere book and he will explain more in state of Sanderson.
Also @Chris Murphy he says he does visit Canada and that he usually goes to the coastal parts in Ottawa whatever that means but definitely keep an eye out in the future.

I wonder if I've done this to anybody else here on 0_o. I get so used to interacting on the BRs and discussions with people that I forget to actually add them haha.

That's awesome, Ahdam. Did he have a Q&A session or was it just the signing?

@Petrik thanks Petrik I might have done but like I said there were a lot of people there and I was lucky the line moved gradually so who knows
@Veronica Cheers Veronica it was a signing and I kind wished I had some more time to talk to him but the line was getting bigger so I did what I did but I'm happy I met him (he's a quick signer since I barely noticed he signed all my books haha)
Ahdam, your hair looks great! Glad you had a good time and I do love the “unite them” dedication. So cool!

In spite of my previously high ratings, my opinions of both series have since diminished significantly. I read the entire Broken Empire trilogy, and then the first Red Queen's War book.
If you ask me, your best bet is to start with Broken Empire, if only because you'll enjoy Red Queen's War more if you have some experience with the worldbuilding and characters =].

Thanks Liam. :)

That's really cool Ahdam. And your hair looks fine!

You would miss a lot of Easter Eggs if you start with TRQW. IMO, those Easter Eggs is what made Pricne of Fools great. However, I will never recommend Mark Lawrence's Broken Empire and TRQW. Just a personal opinion on his works, I find his writing headache inducing and his world-building extremely lazy.
I suggest Red Sister, his newest book if you ever want to read his work.
