Hi everyone. I've made a post awhile back, asking for beta readers for my urban fantasy novel. I've recently found it to be quite a bit of fun to make beta reading a 2-way street affair. So, I'm offering to beta read anyone else's stuff, in exchange for beta reading my stuff. I'll be handing out 2 chapters at a time, along with a modified version of the Jami Gold Beta Reader's Worksheet. It has every question I could think, plus a few more, and is worded FAR more articulately than if I tried, lol.
I'd like to receive anyone else's work in a similar fashion: a handful of chapters or pages at a time. It makes a bit easier for me to give some feedback back in a timely-er fashion.
If anyone is down with this arrangement, please pm me with the genre of your work, age group it's intended for, and around how large the chunks you plan to send are. (word and page count plz) _____________________________________________________ Here's a kind of blurb / synopsis thing: Remember all of those kid’s stories about trolls, faeries, goblins, and other things that’ll snatch you from the shadows and eat cha? They’re real, just not exactly in the way the story books depict them to be. We follow a "problem solver" (or a merc if you wanna be a jerk about it) and how he goes through his life. He has a few tricks up his sleeve and a razor wit that make him one of the best at what he does, but works hard at making himself one of the hardest to know about. His life in the past few years seemed to even out and flow smoothly (well as smooth as a problem solver can manage). He has an "okay" flow of customers, courtesy of THE best and most expensive hush-man / broker in the country, (who he's pretty tight with) has a handful of secret hide-hole "meeting rooms", the most awesome ass coat money can buy and imagination can dream up, a pretty good assortment of gear, and a shitty jeep...it still runs damn it! But when a quick grab for desperately needed cash in the form of, what he thought, was a quick 'n easy piddly job, turns into a barge load of crap dropped into his lap, everything goes to shit. _____________________________________________________ It's still a work in progress and has a few [place holders] in it, mostly for character names and specific times. It's for mature readers, action oriented, with mature language, and some graphic scenes.
