Hmmmm...speculative houses various fiction science/fantasy/horror/dystopian/apocalyptic, etc.

What if I created a 'fantasy/horror/dystopian/apocalyptic fiction' section, would that cover your book?

message 68: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Devon Wilke (lorrainedevonwilke) I'm also new to the group and wanted to share both my Kindle Countdown sale and my new book trailer:

After the Sucker Punch by Lorraine Devon Wilke

First of all: the 99¢ sale:

It started this morning at 1:00 am PST and will extend to noon, Monday, 9.29.

After the Sucker Punch, a 5/4-star reviewed novel, is having its first "dollar days" and last sale for the year. If you've not had a chance to get it, I hope you'll take a look: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K2L71V8

And if you'd like an idea of what it's about, click over to the book trailer... a brilliantly made (thx to a talented team) visual synopsis I think you'll enjoy: http://youtu.be/EuDxVD7rmrE

Thanks and certainly be in touch with any thoughts or questions! Best to you all.

Thanks for posting Steve.
You should post this in a folder for the appropriate genre. If you don't see one suitable let me know and we can add one.

Not really looking into publishing (at least not right now) but I do enjoy my writing time. I'm currently working on a crime short story, and it's borderline horror.

Any others who'd like to share what they've been up to? Writerly friends, what's keeping you busy right now?

message 75: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) Good luck with your story Katrina, I bet it's going to be great!.

I'm currently promoting but as for works in progress I'm not working on anything but have a few ideas in mind. Got a few short stories lined up, a story in which I combine works of Poe and Shakespeare and eventually I'll get started on my fourth book, Opium Warfare.

message 76: by Kat (new)

Kat Desi (katdesiwrites) | 878 comments Mod
Thanks Justin! It's safe to say it's not as horrifying as the last one you read. I toned it down a little.

A Poe & Shakespeare combination should be interesting. Looking forward to what you come up with it. Also, good luck on fourth book!

Justin (justinbienvenue) I'm currently writing my 4th novel, Opium Warfare. I'm working on the 2nd chapter and I'm about 3,000-4,000 words in so that's actually really good for me. I don't keep track of my word count religiously but I know for a beginning, that's solid. So far so good!

Justin (justinbienvenue) So not only have I been working on Opium Warfare but I've evem started piecing together and planning out novel # 5. Oh I know, crazy right? If I told you it was another poetry book would it make more sense? lol.

Poetry, novel, poetry, novel..it's kind of my thing. Nevertheless, the Project for book 5 is hush hush right now unless of course you can decipher #MMRC

Nice, Justin! Looks like you've a motivation on you. :) And the books sound interesting.

I'm working on a novel too, but slowly and only when I feel like it. I don't have a mind to publish (yet) so there's no hurry.

Kind of. Yes. :p

It's nothing like the one you read before. It's paranormal romance. Although... the MC is a psychopath... Hehe. :D

message 96: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) I've finished writing on Opium Warfare and am currently revising it and also having people doing some top secret stuff for it. I'm also putting together a prelude introductory so people can become familiar with it before they read it.

Merriweather (kp_merriweather) | 5 comments Recently published borderline (the agency #3) and outside of other client projects, still fighting the computers for jive turkeys need not apply (action adventure police procedural) spellbound (teen urban fantasy) guardian legend (dark paranormal fantasy) and telestar (military Mecha scifi). Now that I have no ac and its HOTT IN HURR even at night its slowing down my work progress. I'm currently laid up sick. So no cool library air during the day right now -_-

can't wait to read!

I love horror movies, books...anything, but I don't know if I could write it!!

message 100: by Quentin (new)

Quentin Wallace (quentinwallace) | 2516 comments This is new ground for me too. Brackett and even Game Warden were like Action/Horror, this is straight up gory horror. It's fun to write in different genres though!
