The end of the fun part! I enjoyed it, although it was a bit off kilter and weird. How does this compare to other Arthurian tales? I haven't read any others, so my knowledge is very limited.
I will say, this was the only section of the book I really enjoyed. I'm nearing the end of the four sections (there is also a fifth, The Book of Merlyn, but to my understanding, it's usually considered a separate book) and I can't wait to be done with the whole thing. Part of it are so tedious. But The Sword in the Stone was quite humorous and fun :)
I still have to get to the next four books, having read the first one only today. Some parts were tedious with descriptions I didn't care for, but I liked it overall. Wart's transformations were quite funny, especially the meeting with the anonymous hedgehog who afterwards sent him a gift of a couple of dirty leaves with fleas on them :)
The funniest moment was King Pellinore's fear for the Questing Beast's well being - they were so fond enemies they couldn't live without each other.
