Rod Baker | 119 comments At 16 I got fed up with my job as a rag bailer and decided I wanted to see the world. As I was not independently rich, I applied to join the Merchant Navy and was accepted (they accepted everybody) into the National Sea Training School in Gloucestershire.

“All we knew was that after completing three months of training, we would somehow be magically transformed into world travellers. We would be able visit all the countries that lay against the wide oceans of the world. This vision was a powerful magnet. It sucked us from the lack of gravity at home into a new orbit of maritime adventure.”

Life in the Merchant Navy wasn’t like I thought it would be, none of it. But I did visit about twenty countries and it became the springboard to bounce me into my next adventure.

Jessie Gussman | 11 comments I love memoirs, especially if they're funny. I can do this if a week to ten days turnaround is OK. jessiegussman@gamil.com Please let me know what you're looking for in your feedback.

btw, I love your blurb, except for the last sentence.

Jessie Gussman | 11 comments Your book is not only well-written, but informative and funny with a little bit of romance thrown in for good measure. I had a great time reading it, and I came away with a new appreciation for the global world in which we live.

Thanks for the opportunity and good luck!

~Jessie
