Aprilleigh (aprilleighlauer) | 40 comments This is his correct name but it doesn't sort correctly. It's sorting as if Saavedra is his entire surname, when in fact, per Spanish naming customs, that is only the maternal portion of his surname. Cervantes is the paternal portion, and the name needs to sort as Cervantes Saavedra, not merely Saavedra, which is incorrect.

This is only one link supporting my statements - a quick Google search will provide many others.

Moloch | 3975 comments Unfortunately, this is a problem with no solution at the moment :-( I hate it too

The same problem applies to every author with two surnames, like Manuel Vázquez Montalbán for example.

I have requested several times a "sort by" feature for authors, like there is already for titles, but nothing has been done so far.

Aprilleigh (aprilleighlauer) | 40 comments Glad to know it's not just me. Strange that we don't have that feature given the variety of naming conventions around the world (surname first, multiple surnames, etc.)
