Saar The Book owl | 3096 comments Super! I'll look for a schedule, but it will be from te first book, because I haven't read any of it yet.

message 4752: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 3096 comments So, there are 10 books in WoT - series and maybe we can do 1 every 2 months or month and a half? Starting Febr. 2th?

Isn't the series 14 books plus a companion novel?
Still one every month/month and a half would work great imo :)

message 4754: by Sok (new)

Sok | 76 comments I'll try and join! One book every 2 months would be ideal! February 2nd sounds good.

message 4755: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 3096 comments I found 10 on GR, but indeed there are 14. My mistake. It starts from New Spring I wait for other reactions today and then ask for a thread for a month and a half for each book.

New Spring is a prequel, and from what I recall, people who have read it don't recommend reading it first (I'm sure people here who have read the series can enlighten us more)

message 4757: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 3096 comments Aha, thanks for the hint!

message 4758: by Chris (last edited Dec 16, 2019 05:19AM) (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2348 comments Right, it's best if you wait on New Spring until after Book 7 at least on the main series.

I say 7 because the original novella of "New Spring" was published just before Book 8, and then that novella was expanded into a longer work when published on its own later on, which would have come out right after Book 10.

So short answer might be to put it between Books 10 and 11.

Saar The Book owl | 3096 comments So, I've asked BR - threads for the first 6 books every 2 months. At the end of 2020 we can look if we continue and then put requests for 2021?

Great - anyone else? I'll put a request in to the sheet. I might join the Armored saint and perhaps someday I'll do another WOT re-read. I haven't touched it since the last book came out.

PSA from mods based on recent inputs to the spreadsheet:

We are getting a few duplicate requests by different people for the same buddy read. Please communicate before requesting the buddy read to ensure this doesn't happen.

If you are requesting a change of date for a buddy read that has already been requested, please put a note in the "Special Instructions" box.

Thanks always,

FBR Mod Team

Katie K | 2600 comments Thanks so much Jenna! Sorry for any confusion (I may have requested a few duplicates by mistake).

Quick question for you while you are here. Has a 2020 post been made yet for the books that will be on schedule in the new year? I saw a series list, but not everything as of yet. I may be a bit early in asking, but I was just curious :D

I get sidetracked talking to everyone, and paying my rent and license plate renewals, and you go and beat me to the punch with some of my BR invites...

I'm in for Sweep with Me, Smoke Bitten, and Stars Beyond (obviously)... and I think I agreed to Goblin Emperor somewhere...

Come Tumbling Down -- Wayward Children #5 -- 1/7/20
Wicked Bite -- Night Rebel #2 -- 1/28/20
Golden in Death -- In Death #50 -- 2/4/20
Age of Death -- The Legends of the First Empire #5 -- 2/4/20
Shorefall -- Founders #2 -- 2/20/20
Imaginary Numbers -- InCryptid #9 -- 2/25/20
The Queen's Bargain -- Black Jewels #10 -- 3/10/20
A Murderous Relation -- Veronica Speedwell #5 -- 3/10/20
Badger to the Bone -- Honey Badger Chronicles #3 -- 3/31/20
Who Speaks for the Damned -- Sebastian St. Cyr -- 4/7/20
Plan for the Worst -- St. Mary's #11 -- 4/16/20
Network Effect -- Murderbot Diaries 5 -- 5/5/20
Age of Empyre -- The Legends of the First Empire #6 -- 5/5/20
Return of the Thief -- Queen's Thief #6 -- 8/25/20
The Trouble with Peace -- The Age of Madness #2 -- 9/30/20

The usual plans apply... these are New Releases, and their release dates, as of about 2 months ago when I built my spreadsheet... any BRs are intended to be setup for 7 days after release, to allow as many people as possible to gain BR credit in the competition (so you can start within 3 weeks of release and still count, whether you buy on Day 1 or wait for a hopefully fast library copy)

I'm also not 100% sure audio will release same day for these... if they don't I'll probably bow out until they do, but hopefully others will be around to BR still...

Some gymnastics will need to be performed to make Veronica Speedwell, Black Jewels, and Mercy Thompson work, since they all release on the same day...

After all these disclaimers, obviously we'll only be setting up BRs for books people show interest in... I read a ton and have tons of new releases to keep track of... I'm actually about to go through and check all the new series I only started/caught up on since Halloween, actually, and probably do a 2nd/3rd invite post...
