So... does that mean that you'll probably join?
I've just joined and I already like the lot of you xD

Yes! I'm terribly overbooked this month already, so why not add a long and complicated book to my schedule? :D
I looked up the start date in the BR request list and it starts today? I'll keep an eye out for the thread :)

I just finished Oathbringer a few months ago! How are you liking it?

I just bought the book the other day, so yeah, would love to read it soon. October (other than Oct 1st) is fine with me :)

Yay, Anny! I’ll request a thread for Oct 15 :)

I'll probably read it quite slowly setting myself a schedule to get it done by the end of November.
If anyone wants to join me let me know.

Dude, I wholeheartedly agree! Especially with the way Words of Radiance ended, I expected Kaladin to be leading the charge against the enemy. Also, watching Dalinar struggle with politics translated to me struggling to read those chapters. lol

Feel free to join in (there's a bit of catching up to do...)

Oathbringer definitely builds steam... it has some really great moments later on, tho... "The Clap" is one of my favorite scenes of the series... and the entire climax is great... it's hard to beat Words of Radiance, Chapter 58, for me, tho (Kaladin & Adolin's (and Renarin's) 2 or 3 on 4 battle)

Looks like you read it already (just read the blurb and saw your rating)... I haven't been in this thread since last year, really...

I came in to ask about scheduling BRs for the Licanius Trilogy...
The Light of All That Falls is scheduled for release on December 10th, with no expectation of more delays (it's been in editing/etc since December 2018), and a BR is already scheduled.
I'd like schedule the first 2 books for October/November.
We can do monthly or bi-weekly:
The Shadow of What Was Lost -- October 10th or November 10th
An Echo of Things to Come -- November 10th or November 25th
The Light of All That Falls -- December 10th (already scheduled)
EDIT: Threads already exist from the postponed BRs from 2018, so I guess this is more of a refresher to kickstart interest in the BRs again and schedule official dates for them

While I'm here, I'd like to do another round of New Release BR invites:
The Unkindest Tide -- October Daye #13 -- September 3rd, 2019
Starsight -- Skyward #2 -- November 26th, 2019
The Secret Chapter -- Invisible Library #6 -- January 7th, 2020
World's Unbound -- System Apocalypse #6 -- October/November audiobook release (audio is falling behind print releases more and more)

In on Starsight though I think I may have to let Juila read it first. She's read Skyward about 3 times now.

I'm also in for Starsight.

I have The Mists of Avalon, Sword at Sunset, the first three books of the Pendragon Cycle (Taliesin, Merlin, Arthur) or Child of the Northern Spring on my shelves and would be happy to read any of them.

I'll probably read it quite slowly setting myself a schedule to get it done by the end of November.

Great!! Quite a few people have said they'll join if they can get hold of the book. I'm going to request a thread soon with a start date of 24th October. Hope to see you on the thread ;-)

That "Clap" is one of the single, greatest demonstrations of power through character, apart from Kaladin in Book 1. I do agree that it builds steam, but it feels like just that last 10% of the book, whereas "Way" and "Words" had it spread out a bit better. Not to say that "Oathbringer" is bad, I just think it's the weakest of the three so far.
And to think, we've got 7 more!

Yea... but it's 2 arcs... we got 2 more, then a 15 year time jump I think, then a 2nd arc that will take place more in the Cognitive Realm...

As a member of that class of 2018 I can neither deny nor confirm that there will be an official group reread. We haven’t really decided. For myself, I’m planning to start the reread pretty soon after we finish Assail. So, that’s sometime in March 2020?
But, I prefer to do a binge-read though this time. So, my schedule might not fit with a group BR.

Might be interested with the Licanius. I’ll try reading the first book, since I’ve that ready. The other two books will depend whether I like the first one, though. I prefer to start on Nov, is that ok?

November 10th would be fine. I've read the first one, so that will be easy. I already have the second one too.
I'll request all the threads, soon... even the Secret Chapter one, since I emailed Arkadeb about it (he's busy at work until October and not posting much)...
A number of people showed interest in the postponed BR thread for Shadow of What Was Lost, so I'm going forward with the October/November/December plan... anyone who wants to go later can start a separate thread I guess...
When Barry posted November interest here, I thought he means 10/25/10, but he made clear in the postponed thread that he meant November/December/January...

I’m there for Mists Shaitarn and will leave a more detailed post for you over at Raiders, so I don’t clutter the admin threads.

Choko and I are planning a Wheel of Time read next year; we want to read two books a month and so get it finished in August! If any of you would like to join us, we'd be more than happy to have you! (I'm guessing we'd roughly have 1st - 14th of the month for the first book, and 15th - end of the month for the second, but these would be pretty flexible dates I'm sure!)
Mods, would it be okay for us to use the old WoT threads rather than have you create new ones?

I might join in I kind of stopped after reading the second book but I think I'll join for the discussions
I underestimated WOT for the wrong reasons, but now that I know what I'm getting into, I want to give it another go so count me in

Wow, 2 books per month is crazy! Maybe I'll join for the first one at least and see how it goes. I really want to start the series!

If you guys want to do a much slower BR of the series I'm interested :)

I think Elinor meant the other type of bi-monthly ;D
A book every 2 months... or at least a month... if I know Elinor, 600-1000 pages is a large time investment, when she's reading a dozen books at a time...

Exactly xD

I'm also interested in a slower WoT BR, I can't pull off 2 books/month. We could do a separate one! 1 book every two months sounds good. Anyone else interested?

It's horses for courses - what works for one person doesn't work for another, and that's fair enough. I tried joining the original WoT read here on FBRs and found the long wait between books meant I was forgetting bits of the story by the time we picked up the next one.
One day I'm going to do a Malazan binge read for exactly the same reason!

Then I'm in! I've had the first book, sitting unread for ages

Can't do two a month but interested if it's a little more slower :) you can choose to do it faster anyway, of course

I like that idea! It might get a little complicated when the new books start, but it could work
I'd love to follow up with you guys for the third book :D

From the Goodreads description:
Sancia Grado is a thief, and a damn good one. And her latest target, a heavily guarded warehouse on Tevanne’s docks, is nothing her unique abilities can’t handle.
But unbeknownst to her, Sancia’s been sent to steal an artifact of unimaginable power, an object that could revolutionize the magical technology known as scriving. The Merchant Houses who control this magic--the art of using coded commands to imbue everyday objects with sentience--have already used it to transform Tevanne into a vast, remorseless capitalist machine. But if they can unlock the artifact’s secrets, they will rewrite the world itself to suit their aims.
Now someone in those Houses wants Sancia dead, and the artifact for themselves. And in the city of Tevanne, there’s nobody with the power to stop them.
To have a chance at surviving—and at stopping the deadly transformation that’s under way—Sancia will have to marshal unlikely allies, learn to harness the artifact’s power for herself, and undergo her own transformation, one that will turn her into something she could never have imagined.
