I LOVE both of these books - The Day Of The Triffids being my all time favourite!
I'm up for reading both of them 'coz it's been a little while since I got the two of them off of the shelf if you say whenever they're sorted for?
Hi, new member here. Is there anyone interested in reading Terra Ignota series by Ada Palmer? I've already got the first two books, Too Like the Lightning and Seven Surrenders.

In for Animal Farm!
Hello everyone. I have already read the book To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee once. But I am going to read it again (because it's amazing and I just can't get enough of it and also I would love to exchange views). I would like to begin anytime in October...we can decide the time. So let me know if anyone is interested ? ;)

@Beste: Yes, I'm up for that. All the books?

Yes all of them in a monthly schedule :)
Btw We were liars is a little boring at start, all through the book you will feel the melodrama and chaos and you will ask yourself wtf happened actually. But you have to keep reading:)
Wow assassins creed is the last book I would see being recommended here I’m not sure where the books start although I’m told there is a Russian ac character that has there own story here So I’m a maybe but I’m not sure with video game books
@Beste: thanks for the warning, haha :) Will you ask for a thread for 'Assassin's'?@Ahdam: I'm a bit curious, but why do you think that? I never played the games, but I've watched them.
I'm assuming you mean you watched walkthroughs of the game?I think to me books coming from video games feel a bit gimicky to me since I don't have a problem if its the opposite because theirs something interesting when someone turning a few words into a visual piece but the opposite seems weird to me. Also I think it's more apparent the publishers want a cash cow at least to me it seems.
Maybe I'm being protective due to my vision of video game books being the same story just in words with nothing to add. I hope this makes sense
Paritoshika wrote: "Is anyone up for We Were Liars by E. Lockhart?...."I've got this on my to-read pile but I'm so crazy booked right now it would have to be December/ January.
The Monster Baru Cormorant releases on Halloween... in prep for it's release, anybody want to read or re-read The Traitor Baru Cormorant in October?
Me and Mayim read this at different points last year for Book Bingo, and loved it.

@Beste. Thanks for the warning. Actually a friend of mind recommended it very strongly so I think I will give it a try once. 😊
@Saara The Book Owl. I was thinking we can start right now since I am not reading anything currently. Or if you arent free right now then we can start in November? Or maybe in December? Because I have to make a project and I will be reading some non-fiction books in mid-October.
@Saara @ Charlie Charlie wants to start in either December or January ... i can start in December✌but then will you @Saara be comfortable in December?
Barry wrote: "I'm interested, but probably not until late in October."
I'll wait and see if there's more interest... might start it mid-october if others want to, that way you can show up a bit late, and there can be sometime before hopefully doing the 2nd book early november... otherwise I can schedule at end of october and basically do them back-to-back if it's just us...

Does anyone like to read The Six-Gun Tarot with me? Like uhm... right now? I'm looking forward to read it, but could use some motivation :)
Rob and I are going to start The Saxon Series by Bernard Cornwell January 7th. We'll be reading one book a month and if anyone else wants to read along with us, you would be most welcome.
Sir Anni wrote: "Does anyone like to read The Six-Gun Tarot with me? Like uhm... right now? I'm looking forward to read it, but could use some motivation :)"I'll chat with you for book 1 and join for book 2. I need to read the rest of the series.
Angela wrote: "Rob and I are going to start The Saxon Series by Bernard Cornwell January 7th. I've read up to book four but need a refresher before proceeding with the rest of the series.
Shield wall!!!
Can I tempt anyone to Buddy Read Ship of Theseus by J.J. Abrams & Doug Dorst? I bought this book a few years ago and it's one of those that you want to take in slow & talk about as you do it. Note: I highly recommend that you have the print copy. This is an interactive book with letters, notes, flyers, etc that are hidden within the pages. A mystery story within a story. It is a fantasy novel.
I've skimmed & started the book a few times. I already know I like it. I would love to have pals to read the book & discuss. I love the way the book was designed.
Beste wrote: "@Saar 5th of January then?@Ahdam Lets give it a try at least :)"
Yes, that's fine for me. Can you ask for a thread?

Any interest in The Long War by A.J. Smith for next year?

I have book 1 so would up for reading that one, but am trying not to buy so many books right now so probably won't read the rest (unless they're very, very good).
I just came across Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio today. It looks to be a cool space opera. Anyone else want to read it?

@Melissa - I ended up finding people who want to Buddy Read it in another group. We are going to start December 12th & take it slow. Would you like to join that BR?
Soo wrote: "@Melissa - I ended up finding people who want to Buddy Read it in another group. We are going to start December 12th & take it slow. I'm terrible at making decisions! December??
@ Melissa - Sci-Fi and Fantasy Book Club - Dec 12: Ship of Theseus Buddy Read. I got a small group together. It should be good!
Hey everyone. Is anyone interested in reading The Other Side of Silence with me? It is basically a historical non-fiction about the Partition of India. I will read the novel somewhere in mid-October so if you are not booked and interested then let me know.
Charlie wrote: "Saar The Book owl wrote: "Paritoshika wrote: "@Saara @ Charlie Charlie wants to start in either December or January ... i can start in December✌but then will you @Saara be comfortable in December?"..."December 1st? That's okay for me. Can you ask for a thread?

Was there a buddy read set up for The Ember Blade? I remember Scott asking if anyone was interested in reading it.
