Choko and I will be reading Daughter of the Empire starting with 8th of Feb. Would anyone like to join us?

I might not read it right away when it's published, but I'd like to read it. Are you set on reading it when it comes out?

Whoops, forgot to reply to Jenna. Yes, Jenna, actually since I already pre-ordered the Kindle version I want to read it immediately, or at least two or three days after.

I'll wait to see if other people comment and want to read it and then decide. Scott might want to do this one.
If other people will join you, I'll put it off, but if no one else is in, I'll read it when it comes out with you. (I just have quite a few buddy reads already scheduled around that time).

And holy crap! 2 days without a post in this topic. Was wondering why nothing was showing up in my feed.
Anyways, still hoping that I can get some people here for :
Godsgrave
And I'm hoping to get a buddy reads going for The Starlights and Shadows Trilogy. As in these 3 books.
Daughter of the Drow
Tangled Webs
Windwalker
@MorteI can do Daughter of the drow, as it is on my Later-shelf, but I'm getting the feeling I'll dnf it, so might be wise to wait for a third person?

We have Promise of Blood in March15
I would really like to read Tchaikovsky’s fantasy series at some point: Shadows of the Apt. Starts with Empire in Black and Gold (sorry on mobile) and I know people enjoyed his Guns of the Dawn and there’s a read for Children of Time. I hope a few might be up for his ten book series later in the year?
I’d be interested in reading shadow of the apt Olivia and I think Angela mentioned her interest to when are you thinking of doing it

Yeah, probably a good idea.
On a related note, any other Forgotten Realms Trilogy that you'd like to read that you think that you'd be a lot less likely to drop? I haven't read much of it outside of some of the Drizz't books and this one solo book. I'm up for a lot here. I just kinda picked out one that seemed promising.
I’m flexible Ahdam. Got quite a full Feb and March. But not much beyond that. I don’t mind waiting. The first book has stood on my shelf for like 2 years now lol
@MorteMmm, I'm a D&D fan in general, but Salvatore and Daughter of the drow and Dragonlance was all I came across, and... it's all what one reviewer termed "cereal-fantasy": fight-travel, simple plot, shallow characters. I haven't searched that much, but if there's something with less than 6 installments and with complex characters and plot, then I'd probably be up for that with less chance of dnf.
Well I’ve decided to go for the policy of joining a buddy read closest to me and I if your February and March is booked how about early April maybe the 1st

Aw man.... Well, just the same, any other Forgotten Realms Trilogies on your list that we could used to try to attract more people? Also, I wouldn't call the characters in The Dark Elf Trilogy shallow. Especially Drizz't himself.
Icewind Dale might be, but I wouldn't know as the first book in the trilogy was so badly written that I couldn't get far. They're Salvatore's first published books ever, and dear god does it show! It's kinda sad that it got a game based off of it that's considered a beloved classic.
And from what I've heard, what makes the Drizz't books so great is that Drizz't, who while able to overpower his enemies with ease after the first 3(or possibly 6) books, he deals with so much inner conflict, and getting people to trust him considering that he is a Dark Elf, and most people in the world think that they're all evil.
The stories are kinda simple however, but that's kinda the point. It's not trying to be super deep or complex. They're supposed to sort of light reads where you get to enjoy a bunch of fun action scenes. Books to read between much better works. I don't know about you, but If I read too many epics one after the other I'd get kinda worn out., and I say that while loving them!
@MorteI've named all the ones I'm aware of, but I'll be browsing through the forgotten realms list here on GR (135 books). If smth catches my eye, I'll mention it here.

How can someone write 135 books? He basicly has to live in that world to produce so much and that would require a hell of an imagination, which in my mind can not be reachable in a sober state.
Anyways sober or not I still present my respect if its written by a man.
idiffer wrote: "@MorteI would totally read godsgrave, if not for the fact that I already read it TT"
lol, oh god!
@Olivia - I am also interested in Shadows of the apt series. Already have all books minus one which i can easily get. But I can't do first of any month as I already scheduled Carey's books on that date (there are still 7 of them left). I'll join you guys if we can set the date somewhere in between 5th and 10th.
I'm up for Shadows of the Apt but really can't start until June. If I do book one I want to march through the other nine one per month.
Scott wrote: "I'm up for Shadows of the Apt but really can't start until June. If I do book one I want to march through the other nine one per month."I'm ok with that as well...
For whatever reason book two is currently available on Kindle. Why would 9 of 10 books be available? WTF
That's the one missing from my paperback collection. For some reason it was not available in the bookstores over here.
Book 3 of Shattered Sands comes out March 20th. Anybody caught up and a go for book #3?

Manju wrote: "Will anyone be interested in reading Dissolution with me in May?"I will read with you, Manju. May 21st ok?
I'd be up for dissolution I read the first hundred pages and was very intrigued (mainly due to primary school nostalgia of learning about Henry VIII) so I'll be happy to join
Manju wrote: "Will anyone be interested in reading Dissolution with me in May?"I would be interested in this as well!!
Anyone keen to join me in reading The Legion of Flame (Draconis Memoria #2) by Anthony Ryan on March 1st?
Charlie wrote: "Does anyone fancy Wyrd Sisters?"When were you thinking? That's actually the next Discworld book I need to read.

I want to read this but the majority of the books I want to buddy read are being scheduled for April. I just can't add any more for that month.
