I must warn you though, it's probably a difficult book to read (in terms of vocabulary). I kind of wish I had chosen a shorter French book...
Well, maybe I'll re-read some of my favorite stories later this year if there are some people interested in practicing their French :)

I'm in! Anytime you want
Anybody have interest in Kraken by China Miéville starting in the next week? I'm doing it for the topic a-z challenge and figured I'd ask.
This kind of sounds like a weird pagan parallel (I'm just throwing that word around today) to Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch... I'll try and make time...
Scott wrote: "Anybody have interest in Kraken by China Miéville starting in the next week? I'm doing it for the topic a-z challenge and figured I'd ask."I'm free around 30th

But don't let it colour your perception of Mieville as a whole, if you haven't read much else by him - it's great fun, but a bit all over the place at times.
I'd love to read Kraken too (this year is my Mieville year) but my schedule is so full till August, guess I will just lurk and watch :(

Sweet.
Would anyone be interested in reading Ursula Le Guin's novels? I was thinking of the Earthsea novels, but I'd be willing to read her sci-fi books.
I recently read the first Earthsea novel and would be up for trying the rest. I probably can't start until March though.
@Shaitarn - I read the first 4 books very long time back and didn't continue with the series. I'd be up for a reread of the first 4 and a read of the rest in the series.
same here Mayim. that's why I'd be up for a reread now. I wonder if I'll like it more at this age. :)
Would anyone want to read:Red Rising
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell
Dune?
I had to abandon Wizard's First Rule. I couldn't get past the poor writing.
I'd also be up to reading her earthsea books I had the quartet in my shelf for a while and I feel like I need to know more about this authors works since she appears to be an inspiration Also Patrick if he up to read red rising but not until later in the year unfortunately

I'd love to read Dune with you! I've been wanting to read that one for ages. When are you thinking of reading it?

I am reading all three this year. What kind of dates were you thinking?

I've read all 3 books already. They're great reads. I'm debating if I should read them all again with you.

There is a book read on Dune in the Space Opera BOTM Buddy Read if you want to join that as well. I'm reading Dune starting in February.

also, i thought Red Rising and Jonathan Strange were already in the works? But they are also on my to-do list so I'm okay for them too.
@ C. P., Laura & Mayim. As we all have plenty of buddy reads scheduled how would you all feel about starting this towards the end of May? I was looking at around 22nd. As usual we could do 1 book a month. Would that work for everyone?

There's a thread set up for Jan 28th (I think) for Charlie and Vaelin if you can make it then, Beste.

I think we have Dune down for Feb 1. But I’m open to pushing it back a bit if other ppl don’t mind.
