Virginie | 6109 comments Laura, Choko and Shaitarn, how about March 5th for Shaman's Crossing, April 5th and May 5th for the next 2?
I can wait a bit if that's not OK though, I have plenty of side reads.

Iain is right - we are good whenever is good for you:) Just not Nov-Dec, since I try to keep those pretty open for life...:)

You are actually right... I have horrible insomnia and reading makes me at least feel like I am not wasting my time... But I might need an intervention too:):):):)

message 2056: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments Why would I mind Shaitarn? It's always a pleasure reading with you. 😘

@Choko and Iain - Do you 2 never sleep?!

The date is fine with me Virginie.😊

I have insomnia once in a while and it sucks! At least you found a way to distract yourself. :)

Blink twice for intervention! 😉😉

I can sleep with ease... life just gets in the way... my struggle is avoiding OVERSLEEPING... lay down, box fan on lowest setting, and I'm asleep in minutes... relatively easy when I only leave myself 6hrs or so to sleep on work days... it's when I try to go to sleep super early on purpose that I struggle... usually every couple weeks I just come home from work one day and sleep until my next work shift...

Another easy way to fall asleep is lay down in bed and start reading with Kindle backlight... in short order the light makes my eyes tired and I fall asleep...

I swear I'm not trying to rub this in your face, Choko... just saying sleep gets in the way of my reading, and not the other way around :)

I know, you are so sweet! I love you guys and I really like chatting about books, but I am scared to comment on any Malazan, since it is close to impossible not to say yes or no to some of the guesses, and I am not going to spoil anything for them... SO, I decided I will just re-read and comment when appropriate and not spoilery:):):)

There's a buddy read planned for this on March 1st if you wanted to wait to have someone to read it with.

C.P. - We planned this buddy read to get it read just before the film came out at the end of March. Hope you can join us 😊

Charlie and Laura, did we agree on reading this and when? I am very interested in reading this series... If you still are, of course:)

message 2080: by Sha (new)

Sha | 1522 comments I'd like to read Deerskin sometime this year, and since Daughter of the Forest was my favourite buddy read to date I was wondering if anyone would be interested in another dark Fairytale retelling?

I'd like to Sha (I do like Robin McKinley!), but would you mind waiting until a bit later in the year? I've seriously over-booked (no pun intended!) the first few months of this one!

message 2082: by Sha (new)

Sha | 1522 comments I would be happy to postpone it. :D I'm not exactly under booked either.

Oh I must have missed Charlie asking about this. I asked about this a few months ago as I am reading this series with another group starting in May. Sounds like you'll be finished before I start but I'll be interested to read your thread when I get there.

I need to stay off this thread. I've signed up for too many (ones I genuinely want to read) and they keep coming. We're only 2 weeks in, lol. Pretty soon, Ima be like: so, I can fit that in April of 2019, how's that sound?

Tell me about it. I can't resist looking though. The problem is I own at least book one for so many series that it is hard to say no even when I know I can't fit it in. I had to resist joining in the read for The Clan of the Cave Bear. I own the first 5 books in that series but just don't have the time for it tjus year. In fact I don't really have time for anything else this year, if I'm being sensible.

message 2088: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments @Choko - Charlie still didn't reply so I'm not sure. I'm going to read it this month but now I'm thinking to start next Monday so I can read Outlander first. Would next week be ok for you? Or do you want to start it sooner?

Strange and Norrell is also on my TBR but I can only get to it in July. Hopefully you'll find someone else to read with, if you wanna go earlier. Unless you have other things and that one can wait a few months?
Lemme know abt the 25th of Jan and welcome to the group.
