Well I'd be up for it - I have a shelf and a half FR books that are probably due a read. Is January soon enough for you? And what would you like to start with? I suggested the Harpers series, but we could start with something else if you'd like to do a massive FR binge!

Hacen, I have Sabriel listed for my book challenge next year so would be happy to read the trilogy with you!

Hmm it comes out on the 6th and I have Buddy Reads on the 5th and 10th. Do you have any planned around that time?

After April would be fine for me; let me know when is good for you and I'll squeeze it in somewhere!

I only have Last Unicorn penciled in, and that's for the 17th. However, I may need a week or two to actually get the book. Would a week after the release do? Unless you want to read it sooner.

I really need to finish those. I've read the first two, but it's been years.

So I should get them?

Do you want to try for the 13th and we can always change it if we need too?

Holy cow. Just looked at the buddy read list for next year and the years already packed.

When did you want to read them? I can do march
Chris Murphy and I were talking about converging for a BR of the third demon cycle once he caught up. I put it in DNF, but it has been calling to me. If the group reads, maybe we can both join the bandwagon.

Yes!! Niki pls.
@Delitealex can we see what others have in mind too?

I still have to read desert spear, so when you get it together, I'll join you guys!

Starting in mid-January works for me?
Harpers first sounds good, but I really don't mind. We can just go for that series first and then go from there if it's a success. I've been meaning to start Drizzt's books again and work up to the newer ones I missed, and I know I have a set by Elaine Cunningham that I wanted to get to eventually.
I'm very excited to get started though!

And would anyone be interested in Salvatore's Demonwars Saga?

I'm definitely up for starting the series at some point alright! We can maybe get the Harper series started with Shaitarn and then get a larger FR read organised in the meantime?
And by larger, I mean let's read every single FR book in some to-be-determined order :)

Also, I have so many that I own and haven't read yet - I promised myself to finish as many of my Owned-To-Read shelf as possible by next year. I'll hop into your BRs for those that I do have.

Cool, well we'll get something formal organised. I have a bit of time so might draw up a....sizeable list and see what people think :)

Okay, the next one I have as 5 is

Would you prefer to start with a different FR series then? as I recall a couple of the Harpers books (Crown of Fire, for example) feature a character that was in another book and while this novel can be read without any previous knowledge, it might spoil the first novel when we get around to it.

I'm cool either way - I know you just suggested the Harper series initially so I'm cool to just go with that :)

There's a publication order, which has a lot of crap that'd be worth filtering out. And then there's a chronological order in terms of when events in the world happen, but again there'd be plenty to trim from that.
I can do up a list of the series that look worth reading and the order that would result in the least amount of crossovers/spoilers? There's a few similar lists floating around, but nothing that seems to include series like the Harpers, which I'm definitely interested in.

I think the only books the Harpers may 'spoil' are the Finder's Stone trilogy (starts with Azure Bonds) and Spellfire which is the prequel to Crown of Fire. If you're not too worried about that, we can start with the Harpers whenever you like.

Regarding Harpers - I don't have any of them so I'm out. If you guys will BR Elminster or Shandril's Saga however I'd like to join.

So here you go:

So I'm not suggesting reading all of these! But the list is there, and it's on to-do list at some point. The Harpers definitely look like a good starting point to get into the world, cover a lot of ground, and not have too much spoiled due to crossover.
For insane people like me, I think it's a pretty good list :)

Sounds like a plan 😘

Great!! Which date in December?

That's quite the list Sean.
Here's what I have from it:

Do you want to BR any of the above?
