I am on page 50 taking it slow, I have a lot of grandchildren so they keep me busy. I am a fast reader, time willing, I could set it aside giving you time to catch up, I have 3 other books to read and review, and one has almost 800 pages, so grab a copy and join in if you want. My brother and I used to share books, but unfortunately he passed last January.I sent you a friends request, and sat down my book, to give you time to get this message and respond, thanks

Checking out your "January" now + hexing all your non-Malazan reads so you will show up for this.

message 1326: by Silvana (new)

Silvana (silvaubrey) | 1970 comments Ok....so since I noticed some wants to read China Mieville books I'd like to propose some BRs for next year.

Bas Lag trilogy:
Perdido Street Station
The Scar
The Iron Council

Standalones:
Embassytown
The City and the City
Railsea
Anything else?

What would be the best time to start?

message 1327: by Timelord Iain, Tech Support (new)

I think you said you were booked until March... I have a decent number of BRs already through April/May since I've signed up for some trilogies... after that it's just the end of Temeraire and then Malazan/Drenai Saga the rest of the year... dunno how far ahead you want to schedule... I think the latest start anyone scheduled so far was Niki with the Black Sun's Daughter series by MLN Hanover starting in May

Well true but I still can squeeze in The Scar and Embassytown since I have both copies.

Perdido and Railsea I read already but I still put them just in case anyone is interested.

I'm in for it!! I just bought the first 4 books in a sale and they are gorgeous!!! It would be a shame to just have them lying unread on the shelves. I'll get the other ones also by the end of the year so let me know how you plan on reading them.

Hi Maciel; I have the first two books and would love to read them with you (I am trying to get the others, but I want the fabulous covers with the author's own artwork, not the rubbish ones released here!)!

Old Man's War Hacen and Kieron I know in the poll you both mentioned you might like to read this one? I could do the first in December, but wouldn't be able to do the next one until March given my schedule. Or we could start in March?

I would also like to do this (voted for it in the poll)! March would probably be best for me, but if December is best for you guys I'll try to fit it in. :)

I voted for it too.
I'd be in for this one if it was in March- I'm over committed for the rest of the year as it is. I've been meaning to read it for awhile.
