Let's set it for 8th September then, as that works for all of us.
Niki, could you or one of the other lovely mods please set up Sword-Dancer as a buddy read for 8th September please?
Scott- that's number one move in the Dad book, saying/doing things just to get your girls to gang up on you lol.
My Dad used to wear nude colored shorts while mowing the lawn when my friends were coming over.
So, November 1st is good? Yes?

Yes, I'll set up sword dancer. :) I hope you all like it enough to make it to book 7 so I can join up haha.

Pardon my ignorance, but to my understanding the Buddy Read for the Game of Thrones is to start in December.
I bought A Song of Ice and Fire and A Clash of Kings (audiobooks) a while back and I have not listen to them. I would love to join the BD.
They were $2.00 a pop at The Half-Price Book store annual clearance. Humble brag.
Cliffton, yes it starts in December. At this stage the group is looking to do one book from the series every two months. Thread below for the schedule.

It's my favourite series of all time, so hope you enjoy when you read it!

Hi Dawnette, welcome to the group. :) Are you planning to do a reread of the Oomerbhoy books? If so, this Buddy Read Invite is a great place to find someone to read them with. You need at least one other person to hop on board before a Buddy Read Folder is created, so let me know if an interest is generated and what your start date for the read will be. Thanks :)

Hey Adam, there is actually a buddy reading for Way of Kings still in progress! I'm still reading, and several other people are still reading as well. Let me get you a link.Way of Kings BR Discussion
A bunch of us are still in the middle of it, so if you want to start it and start sharing your thoughts, go right ahead!
Would anybody be interested in doing a BR for the Illuminae Files? More in the Sci-fi realm, I think, but they are incredibly well reviewed books. I was thinking about giving them a shot in like two months or so, just because I have one or two (or ten) series I still need to wrap up. Everybody I know who read them loved it. A little far off, I know, but I figured I'd put it out there just in case =].
I've read a sample of the "book" and while it does border on the YA (my worst enemy) I wouldn't mind joining it plus the format of the story really interests me
I've got Red Sister by Mark Lawrence if anyone is interested. I've never done a buddy read and would like some help walking through it! Anyone want to take on a newbie?Red Sister
Sara, I really want to join you on that. I was planning to read it in August. Right before I came here to answer you, I got emails for 2 Beta reads I've been selected for (view spoiler). And they start Aug 1 & 8 respectively. How soon could you start? If I jump on it tonight I might have time to get through most before I start the first beta on Tuesday. I've actually been on a pretty good reading pace of late.

Doesn't that make 5 straight books you've been selected to beta for Sullivan? What's your secret sauce, dirty pun not....well ok kind of intended. :)

Haha, indeed...Yes, that's 5 straight. I do put a lot of thought into chapter by chapter critique. I guess it's working because they keep bringing me back :)

Thanks, ladies :)That would be too cool, Scott.
Sara, it's pretty easy. We start reading together and make comments about how we're doing in a thread for it. Which is now here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

When were you thinking Liam? I've been wanting to read this for a while, but I'm pretty booked up with buddy reads for the next few months.

Oh! Great! I've only just started it but do you guys want to read it maybe in August? Maybe in the beginning of it somewhere?
Margret and I have Tigana now, Angel and that will take a few days time since it is 800 pages long. I would like to go for Nevernight on around 5th or 6th of August but not sooner than that.
The Outlander series is on my TBR for this year. If you haven't read too much of it do you want to buddy read it with me? If you are reading it slower I could also do it in parallel with Tigana.
Margret wrote: "August might be a tad soon for me unless it's towards the end of the month"I'm cool if you want to defer Pandora's Star for a while to free up some time, just to see if anyone else wants to start? I'm still cool to start it, but also have a ton of options that I'm in the mood for so don't mind at all :)
I'm already triple booked lol Sean so that would be great, but I still would need to do nevernight later as we seem to like doorstoppers!
Haha that's no problem - we can book it in for a quieter month and let you work through your list!I now have the freedom to pick a random book off the shelf so who knows what I'm gonna end up with!
If you guys are thinking about postponing pandoras star then I think I might join since I couldn't join due to overlaps and since I want to get into sci fi and this guys books got my attention then I think I'll join you guys for the read

Margret wrote: "August might be a tad soon for me unless it's towards the end of the month"Alright, what date do you want to set for it then? I'm free to do it on any day

I figured I'd bring it up now just in case I could spark some interest haha =].
