You should definitely read Legion of Flame! I'm 30% in and loving it just as much as The Waking Fire.

I am looking forward to the book arriving home!!! Thanks Tammie, now I am more hyped than before!

There's still time to plan to join Scott and I for some more First Law with Heroes on July 2nd. I know it's exciting because it's the day after Canada Day, you'll be hung over and lying in your hammock anyways so why not enjoy some good old fashioned dismemberment and gore? Not Canadian? Well you should celebrate anyways
I could do a buddy read of Ironhand's Daughter in the middle of October if anyone else is interested.

I'm looking to do the Low Town series with a schedule of something like:
Low Town Oct 22nd
Tomorrow the Killing Nov 22nd
She Who Waits Dec 22nd
I'm flexible on the dates but can't start before the date I've given for the first book. The middle book Tomorrow the Killing is on sale today for kindle $1.99 from $9.99.

I've just checked, and I have Low Town under another title: The Straight Razor Cure, so I'd be up for a buddy read.

That was the original release name, cool.

I am currently on the last book of The Infernal Devices, and I had been contamplating of perhaps reading it with other people than my own personal friends. I understand that not all had read the first two books which is why I would be more than happy to re-read the first two books and discuss them with others.

I would highly recommend books of Cassandra Clare, if you have read the Mortal Instruments series, try the Infernal Devices too. They are related. Or Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series.
In a couple of days I'll start reading Shadowplay (Shadowmarch #2) by Tad Williams. Anybody care to join me?
New buddy read for Kings of the Wyld will start 8th August if anyone else wants to join Shaitarn, Kieron and I.
Angela wrote: "New buddy read for Kings of the Wyld will start 8th August if anyone else wants to join Shaitarn, Kieron and I."Hello, Angela. I have read up on the book and it seems interesting. I would love to read this with you, if you'd have me.
Vuk, we would love to have you join us. Looking forward to your thoughts on the book.

I'm thinking about it. But it seems like committing to a future read is the hand of doom for me lately.
So me and a group of people had decided to read Stone of Farewell which is the second book for the memory sorrow and thorn trilogy and there is already a thread created so I'm hoping if anyone wishes to join us for that thread which we said would be August 22nd then that would be good
Angela wrote: "New buddy read for Kings of the Wyld will start 8th August if anyone else wants to join Shaitarn, Kieron and I."I'll join if my library gets in it on time, otherwise happy reading and look forward to your reviews. :)

Is anyone interested in reading A Song of Ice and Fire series, starting with A Game of Thrones, in August or this month?

Wow, it's hard to believe nobody has done a group read of this series here yet! I think that's probably because a lot of people have already read at least part of the series and/or watch the TV show. I hope you get it off the group because I think a lot of people will peak in and contribute. It's a top ten series for me but for a few other, Chris and Margret off the top of my head, it's probably top 3.

I would love to do A Song of Ice and Fire buddy read but right now I would not be able to start - I think September is more likely for me (since we are starting quite some new series this month and I opened a Pandora vase of series on my own!). So I do not want to drag you down - plus it would be a re-read for me until book 5!
To be honest I've never really had an interest in reading A song of Ice and fire and I never watched the tv series because I've just grown tired of some of the fan hype since its annoying and I cant be arsed watching all the seasons as wellHowever I wouldn't mind reading it to get to know what its like but like with Aristea I wont be able to start it anytime soon I could try September but I've got a couple of series then so if you've got a date figured out I'll see what I can do
September is close than it sounds. I've already booked read not starting until October going through May of next year. It goes fast.
Scott wrote: "September is close than it sounds. I've already booked read not starting until October going through May of next year. It goes fast."This is because you are way more organized than I am! :D
I also suffer from this insufferable curse that makes me read books I did not even consider in my TBR (and these books suddenly jump at the beginning of the line... rude books!).
Aristea wrote: "rude books!"
Books have no social decorum, unless of course another book cuts it off and then it shouts to the heavens HOW RUDE!

This made my day!
Aristea and Ahdam, do you want to start A Game of Thrones in December? Is that better for you?Scott, I hope so too. I really would like to read the series, I've never read the books before. I know in a Fantasy group like this one, most likely a good amount of people have already read the books but there are also others like me, and I thought it would be a good idea to create a buddy read for ASOIAF.
Aristea, the more people the merrier. I'd like it if you could join in in December.
Ahdam, I don't listen to fan hype. To me, whether it sounds interesting is all that matters. I don't even care about good or bad reviews. Because honestly no other person has the exact same tastes I have. It's happened before where my friends like a book I didn't like and I liked a book that they disliked. I don't put emphasis on others opinions. I won't know I like it until I try it.
I hope you join in in December if it's a good time for you.
Liv wrote: "So do you guys want to start A Game of Thrones in December? Is that better?"It most certainly works for me - we might even have book #6 out by that time! :p
